FYI - those are second generation forks, but with a third gen stem (Bomberman).
Maybe the circle is from a specific crankset? It appears to have been polished...you can tell my the lines and the teeth for sure.
You don't have to believe me, but I know I'm right. Go over to the Hoffman thread and ask. I promise you, the 97 taj has 14mm. Your axles probably are 1/2" and not 14mm.
Ozare is correct. Those are 14mm dropouts. The 97 Taj had 14mm. Only the 95 US made taj had 3/8".
I believe that is a 98. (7 did not have that head tube badge and did not have an integrated seat post clamp. Rad bike though, I love all of the flashes!
I talked to some other people. The only 94 bars (That decal variant) I have are painted and did not have that hole. The common theme I have seen for the people that have several of those bars is that the hole is on one side and it was likely used to hang the bars while getting chromed. Could be wrong, but seems to make sense.
The only thing that sets the 94 and 95 patriots apart are the sticker...they are the same bars. What makes you think the hole looks factory? All I can think is maybe they used part of the same tubing that they made some of the zip back posts from cause I have seen a few with holes like that in the end (Where the seat guts clamp to it). But if that was the case, then it would have been done before being chromed (I would think?), and that hole to me at least in your picture, looks like it was drilled after they had been chromed.
If the decal is original then they are the first version of ramp room made patriots. So technically, the second version of patriots as the first version was made by SE. I wonder if the drilled hole was there originally or if someone drilled it.
Are these the ones that were just bought on eBay out of Austin Texas?
Someone must have stamped their own serial number? My 93 doesn't have one.
I wish they were the short ones. If you have some of the 4" ones, send me a PM. I will buy them!
Uhhhh, this was from 2.5 years ago. Also it states they are sold.
No way. One sold in October for $140. He just turned around and resold it recently on here for $225. I thought that was crazy high...but $350? There is a reason it's been for sale for so long.
Sweet ride. Just an FYI - it is a mid year 95, also known as a 95.2 (Being the second 95 version). Early 95 had no coaster tab, and later 95 had the straight rear drops versus the "pac-man" drops.
Sorry man, I have 2 but they are not for sale. They are mine for keeps.
dibs - money sent as per our messages back and forth. Thanks!
Marked as pending - pending payment.
Sorry, undibs, my bad. Thought it was new. I jumped the gun. My fault for not reading carefully.
Dibs, PM sent
Dibs #6. Paid.
Dibs. Message sent.
daaaaang! Those rear ones are getting hard to find!
This is the sprocket that comes on a 1995 Hoffman Egg. It may not be branded "Hoffman", but it is absolutely a Hoffman Egg Sprocket. Look in my bikes section and ou will see an all original (Except for tires) hoffman egg. This is the sprocket.
I will check this evening.
So with those cups, can you use a 1 1/8" steerer tube?
It is zaphod beeblebrox from the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy.
No. The Egg was the first taiwan made hoffman bike.
A lot. I was told that these are basically low drag bars, but they had already come out with low drag 2s and they didn't want to do them as a re-release of low drag bars cause it might look bad on the low drag 2s. I have compare them to my low drags and hey look just about identical. These came on the star series 2003 condor.
These are the forks that came with the ramp room flash (1 1/8" head tube). Bill put a different decal on them as they did not have the original decals. Ramp room flash was the only us made 1 1/8" bike. I have always been told that the forks are ramp room. There are some people that say the forks are not ramp room because of the above mentioned things, but they were part of the ramp room flash kit. It makes sense that they are ramp room since the flash is, and the handlebars made for the bike are ramp room as well.
Hey man,Those are definitely not Hoffman. I wish I could tell you what they are, but all I know is that they are not Hoffman. If your friend has any, I really need some 1" taj forks and some 1" condor forks. Actually hey are the same fork just different decals.
man these are so sweet! I just picked up some sealed peregrine 48s that would be great with these. Sadly they are way out of my current price range!
Thanks GAry! Back for sale, last dibs fell through. Make me an offer folks!
Apparently not going...guy has dropped out.
Was that a good F'N or a bad F'N?
I know right! Hahaha, stupid dog. I am pretty sure that is what happened. That is the way I got it. I need someone to pick this up so I can buy something else!
Hey if you sell this then you will have the cash to buy the egg! GLWS!
Yes they did.
If you part it out ever, dibs on the bars and the seat post!
Darn it ope! I needed those freaking forks!
Holy crap! I have yet to see the 98 decals! This is awesome. I dont need them but someone ahwile back was looking. GLWS!
Yeah I know...I considered selling it with some ramp room flash forks that have no decals on them, but those are 1 1/8" threadless.
Yeah those are not the correct forks either. I am pretty sure they all came with 1" so someone must have put the 1 1/8" in later.
Awesome! Based on the serial I believe it is a 95.
Hahaha thanks! Meant to mark the shipping as $0 and not the price!
Yes it is 1 1/8. Wildbill, I will send you a pm.
Hey man, something is going on with the site I think. None of my messages are showing that they are being sent. Send me your email or email me at email@example.com
Do you have any of the checkered flag flash decals?
Hahaha thanks for the heads up! Must not have typed the .
Are these 20" rims or not? Ready to buy them if 20", but need confirmation.
What size are the rims?
