2008 Firemans Texas Cruzer 26

THE Texas Cruzer - Hook 'em Horns!

I've seen two other "UT orange" Fireman's Cruzers out there, both with no white on them anywhere. Orange and black: looks like Halloween to me. So I set out with this bike to make things right. This is the first all new bike I've built in years. Not one single used or old school NOS part anywhere. I chose all the parts and built it all myself, from lacing the wheels to pressing the headset. If you want a bike to wheelie, nothing will get up and balance like a Fireman's Texas Cruzer.

of course nothing will wheelie like one of these bikes.. look how damn short that back end is. i love that name.. u could take any three words from that name and put it to a bike to improve its 'radness' well done

Wheelieman, nice job, this bike rocks.  I noticed on Fireman's site these frames seem to have a can opener welded to the bottom bracket.  Did yours come this way?  What's the story behind the can opener thing?

Awesome bike. I know what you mean about the orange and black. This is done right, down to the Longhorn stickers. Would be great for a cruze on game day! Hook 'em!

The can opener is for opening a cold bottle of Fireman's 4 Ale! I wish mine had one.

Here's the opener on Tex. If the photo doesn't show hit the Flicker link at the bottom. I think Greg just thought it would be cool since so many parts makers were making openers that can be attached or carried in various ways, such as chain tensioners and stuff. Plus, he's a huge beer fan. All of the cruzes he puts together go from bar to pub to brewery along the way. Truth is, the church key is in an almost useless spot as far as access and efficiency are concerned.

Re: 2008 Firemans Texas Cruzer 26

this one looks beautiful. just a few parts away from setting up my second fireman. the bottle opener is rad. I don't remember my first one coming with that. Is my memory hazy or is there a certain year they started coming with the beer bottle openers?

Feeling Bossy. Now how about a beat national pro or whitebear cruiser or panda 26 pro-am raider for a new restore project.
