1989 GT Vertigo

Picked this one up from my buddy Luis over in Sun Valley, CA. I was hesitant to really fix this one up but...I went ahead and made it custom. Custom fluorescent red (almost looks orange) with NOS era correct tribal decals. It took me forever to find the decals which held me back on this project. I got lucky though and completed my GT Vertigo. I took this to the park and talk about an eye catcher. I don't know if it was me or the bike people were looking at. (lol) I already know the answer to that one. Hope you guys like it!!!

I saw a listing on Ebay with these decals and noticed that no one was interested.  I think the guy who listed this was going to give up not realizing he listed the wrong description.  This was awhile back though.  Anyway, the guy who I bought it from happen to find it in an old bike shop that was going out of business.  So I offered him some loot for those decals and he gladly took it.  I think I must have offered him around $20 bux or something like that.  I picked it up way before this BMX bug got out of control......hahahaha:lol:

I'm so sorry bro....I didn't scan them.  Now I regret not doing so.  I was too in a hurry to finish the project that I didn't do the things I had planned.  My brother-in-law said I f'd up by not at least scanning them since he knows how to repro the decals on Illustrator...:(

If they happen to peel off, I'll scan them.  I believe the decals are not completely dry yet so I might try tonight.

Yup we like it!!!  Well, I like it anyway.  Don't peel the decals to scan them man, they'll never go back on and stick the same.  Any half decent computer guy can do these decals from looking at a picture (Chromey is awesome at this).  :)

My Father once spoke to me and said "The way you look at your bike is the way I see My children, I look past the imperfections and rough surfaces to the beauty of the finished product."

This one is BAD ASS..  I told you it'll come out great.  Thanks to our Boy, Ralph from RHYTHM Powder Coating here in Ontario, CA.  He has done a great job with your Vertigo, My ET Kuwi and Kuwi KZ1.   Good Job Brother in Law!

Re: 1989 GT Vertigo

Great color combo. Agreed-someone needs to reproduce those decals.

Re: 1989 GT Vertigo

Instant Fave! That orange is sick bro. Definite head turner, I am a GT guy all the way but I usually like 87's and earlier but this is a job well done! love the pool tires too. I gotta get me a pair of them. This is the only Vertigo in my Faves list... haha.:cool::cool:
