Beautiful dog! Trying to talk the wife into getting another American Bulldog, they resemble Pits, but she doesn't want a big dog again. sad

Thanks! AB's are awesome! What version did you have....Johnson or Scott?

I got this female at 6 months old,and she was a handful! In the beginning, nobody could go near her when she was eating.Take her out for a walk and anyone coming close me,she would be growling and all that shit.Took a few years to train this dog to how she is today.

You don’t smack or hit dogs when they misbehave bro.

I have to agree. Not trying to gang up on you freek(you may be joking so I'll take it that way), i just believe that hitting them teaches them to react violently to things they encounter. I read a quote from a highly intelligent man bitd, i cant remember it exactly but it was to the effect of: "a man who is cruel towards animals hates himself and it reflects his true nature towards everyone and everything." Besides that, its scientifically proven that petting your dog naturally release serotonin and dopamine in your brain. I may have dopamine wrong, but I'm sure of the serotonin part. I'll raise my voice when my pup does wrong and i can tell by his face and mannerisms that he understands he did something wrong( really you can only discipline them if you catch them, if time goes by theyll have no idea why youre raising your voice). What chaps my ass is when i see people that find animal waste in the house and regardless of when it happened, they find the dog, drag it to the waste and rub their face in it. The dog will likely have no idea what theyre being punished for, it hurts their feelings and how tf could you do that to your best friend anyway.
Ive got a mega soft spot for dogs and turtles.
My son has an even bigger heart for animals, he's almost 13 and already doing an intern type deal at a vet clinic because he wants to be a veterinarian that specializes in canine surgery.

Re: Dogs

Edit: good to see some younger kids still having them gumption to care for things other than themselves..  sounds like your boys got his head screwed on & his heart in the right place.. good on him .. obviously has been bought up right.. good on you mate..

+ 1 .. I’m sure freaks not into smacking the sh1t out his dog to get him to sit. lol
bashing an animal to get your way or teach them a lesson is the same as bashing your mrs or girl / kids.. to obey your every command.. lol
you say you love them.
Yeah right.. not seeing it ..

I’ve smacked plenty of people for miss treating animals.. lost people I thought were friends..  better off without em..

you’ll earn trust, respect & loyalty from any living thing..
if you know how to apply some love respect & positive energy,.. You’ll always have a good relationship with people & animals..
nothing more rewarding in life than earning respect & trust from people..

Only thing that tops that...
is when an animal gives you the same trust & unconditional love..  you don’t get that from many humans...

Was told when young..
you can tell a lot from a man by the condition of the animals he keeps & by how loyal or obedient he’s dogs are..
this is a reflection of his character..

I also think if we hadn’t domesticated animals for pets ..
there’d be a lot more murders in the world...  especially the domestic kind lol

pets bring people together n soothe our soles..
I mean how different are the people with no pets.. smile or don’t like animals..

Back in the day the old cockys n dog men In the country would say..
n still hear them today..
don’t trust a bloke that doesn’t own a dog..

Re: Dogs

Im glad this thread is here. Yesterday was rough, this does my heart some good. Thanks fongstar, I'm extremely proud of my son and i believe he'll end up doing exactly what he's aiming for. Are those Boston terriers? They look like fun, energetic pups. I think my next dog is going to be one of those or a pug and I'm going to name him Bazooka.
