Re: 24" Cruiser Gear ratio ????

Can anybody tell me a good sprocket size for a 24" cruiser to get up small hills with ease? I got a 17t freewheel to start with.

I end up keeping the stock 42t/18t on the Mach one pro I just pick up, however I order cnc aluminum chainring & spider to replace the stock steel chainring/spider

I would also say 39/17.  Anything lower will have you spinning and barely moving, especially a 34 or 35.

Maybe on flat ground but I'm surrounded by hills. I'm pretty sure a 36t will be fine. I wish I could afford to buy a few and try them out but nope.

Just test rode the stock 42t/18t with 24x1.75, petty fast... I like it

Laugh all you want, it works for me. tongue

I run 25/9 on a 24" sunday model C, its a little steep but not uncomfortable.  I run 46 or 47/16 on 20" race frames.
