IMO run a longer frame and a shorter stem. SO a 21" frame with a stubby stem may be just fine. I honestly can't remember what I run but it's more than 21" and I run a 48mm stem. I'm 5'11" or so.

DJ and downhill have really followed this short stem approach and I was wondering how many trails BMX guys were doing it too… makes a lot of sense

"If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything"

Mid school started the day Mat Hoffman asked "Can someone build me a frame that won't break after a week?" and it ended when you guys started saying, "That's my brothers old bike, it's too heavy and makes my arms hurt."

I’ve been wondering about this as well. I love my short stubby stem on my mountain bike but have never tried one on a bmx bike. In my mind it feels like it will be similar to running a LHD setup if you primarily grind on the right side. It works and is very practical but my eyes just can’t get used to it and it throws me off.

Maybe it’s time to give it a try!

Nice doesn’t look bad at all either.  I was thinking Redneck XLT in 49 but the right flatland stem may be even better cool

Nice collection of daggers Johnny big_smile

I bet you could make some quick cash on that pink 19” it looks clean.  I just picked up a 19”
Sour Grape (rider shape pretty cheap) and I may just do a NS flat build with it soon.  What pegs are you using?

Re: S&M hoarders unite

35-40mm reach would be cool to try. Flatland stems seem to be a bit too short but I like that there is no rise. This 40mm might be the perfect one to try out!https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/239554/enduro-stem61687d41f2.png

Re: S&M hoarders unite

That LTF turned out STUNNING! Damn!

As for the Trails set up for shorter folks? Friend of mine is 5'5 on a good day. He looks comical on my 21.8" but that's mainly a mean friends POV haha. BITD I had a T1 Wesselcode in 20.6" my first real aftermarket build & I used a few parts off old completes & a Stem a good friend made for our whole crew. 42mm Long, about the same rise as a Challenger i believe. Never seen my mate happier blasting around! He's looking to build a new bike now & he's already got a 42/43mm Madera Stem & is looking at a 20.6" Ruben, these things stick & it worked amazingly for him. There's definitely something to it!
