COVID has got me pretty much shut down. I’m working still but don’t do many public activities. Once I’ve gotten my vaccine that’s gonna change. cool

Re: Laced wheel thread

Just finished lacing this Alienation Runaway rim. The design of this rim requires you to run spokes from the hub flange to the opposite side of the rim.

1st go at it I ended up with 2 spokes being proper length, next next 2...too long, and continued that way. I ended up using some extra shorter spokes to replace the ones that were too long. 1st time I've ever laced a rim like this. Hub flanges same diameter both sides. Don't know what caused it, but still needing to true it up, it spins balanced etc.

Deciding what color nips I'll switch to before getting rim trued. The ones on the wheel just used to build with.

Eric, I also bought a set of rims that required radial lacing...not easy right. At first I also couldn't really figure it out, then I zoomed in on the pictures of the manufacturer which helped me a lot, I have Total rims on SE Team hubs:

My wheel guy sent me these, but I’m out of town so I can’t go get them. So sorry for the terrible quality of the pictures

Newest wheelset finished. NOS profile high flange, NOS velocity taipan rims made in Australia and sapian laser spokes. Decided to throw these skin wall tires on. I’m stoked! Waiting on a profile elite 16t freewheel to arrive.

i am happy.

Where’d you get your freewheel from? I can’t find one anywhere!

Couple of 48h tank wheels I laced recently.

Just got these done for my calendar build. Revcore hubs and Araya Aero rims. Had these rims since 83 and still my favourite.

Re: Laced wheel thread

Doing a service and truing of these wheels. Nice set of stainless jet fuel spokes. Replacing the nips with black ones to detail out the wheels a bit.
