I’m a life long Boss fan, NorCal born. I’ve got some stories & bikes but I’ll focus on this item.
I can remember how long ago it was, 15 years? I’d have to look at my EBay history but this came up. I think a friend was selling off some of Steve’s stuff for him. I HAD to have this.

This jacket was presented to Steve at the Grands when he won the title in 1993. His name was stitched on the spot. I told the seller that I was a big fan and we have talked many times at nationals. I asked if he would sign it for me, he did. I made him an offer he couldn’t refuse too.
It hangs deep in my closet & is one of my prized possessions.

Yeah, the pics don’t do it justice, red satin with gold sparkle flake. The back patch is amazing.
Now that I’ve taken this out, looked at it, I’ve realized it should be in a display or a museum.
I’d be willing to let it go to the right Boss collector.

Re: THE BOSS THREAD LETS SEE THEM.....

That’s a Rad Jacket! I’m definitely a BOSS fan Born & Raised in San Francisco 415… I made it to the Meeting of the BOSS couple weeks ago.. had Carlo sign my Jersey, I brought out hall of fame rider Jamie Lilly’s helmet, I’ve seen similar team helmets that were Steve’s cool

That’s got to be an inside joke, right?tongue

Steve was sponsored by Magna in the late 90’s. I’d have to look at my photo album from the 99’ Grands, I can’t remember what frame he was riding stickered up with Magna stuff.

Re: THE BOSS THREAD LETS SEE THEM.....

Honestly, it's kind of a joke, but not really.  After Torker let him go in '97, he signed with Next, then with Magna not too long after that.  Don't worry -- he was riding Kastan frames during those sponsorships.

Re: THE BOSS THREAD LETS SEE THEM.....

My 1995 Prime Time ***sent pictures of the welds and serial number to Carlo and he confirmed that he did not build this frame and fork. So I sold it, haha***

Yeah, I knew it wasn’t a Boss, Kasten was about right. I’ll dig out the pics this weekend. Steve was always so cool to my wife & I when we crossed paths at nationals. Always chatted it up & was super friendly.
