Re: Mid-School HARO THREAD - for those of us that love the midschool haro

So by the looks of it Haro produced the Backtrail until 2010. Nyquist got a frame change for 04 and 05 with the R1. I don't know what happened to him in 06.

aaah... That explains why the bent frame design has Nyquist decals until 2004. I checked and could not find a single 2004 or 2005 Backtrail with Nyquist (The font changed on the 2004 decals too). So the new frame style became the Nyquist, but they continued to sell the old bent frame style Backtrail into 2006. There seems to be a 2 year overlap with the new frame.

I have an old style X2 with date code X2S6G01xx. So they made at least 100 in 2006.

Here is the link to the identification guide I posted a while back, helps identify your frame within a year or two without a serial# lookup: [url=https://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=855288]

I wish there was a way to tell if it was a nyquist or not. Doesn't really matter as I'm just going to keep it and leave the stickers off to let the chrome shine but just wanted to know what I had. Thanks for the input!

I believe it has to do with year. I have a 01 and 03 and they are both Nyquist. I believe that all Backtrails are Nyquist from 99-03 at least.

Mystery solved. They were all Nyquist til 2004 - then they designed a new frame for Ryan Nyquist. They continued the old frame a couple more years as just Backtrail X1, X2, etc...

A little bit of progress… entire front clip are just placeholders for now. Still sourcing a bit for this thing, but it all costs money tongue Some decals for it should be arriving tomorrow or maybe Monday cool

Heres my profound, life changing statement.
Lifes a bitch..PASS ME A BEER.

They're reacting and that's wonderful. It's better than them sitting there doing nothing. I say make them react - do whatever's in your power to move the audience, and if that's where it is, and there where it is with America, sex and violence, then I say project it.

Sweet! Is she an Si or Ci? I dismantled my bike and she will sit that way for at least a year. My nieces favorite color is blue, but I have a while to bring her over to team purple.

If you have some calipers handy measure the inside diameter of the head tube. That should help when picking headsets as they normally list the outside diameter in their specs. The last time I did this I ended up using 1" beartrap cups and Frankenstein bearings to get the fit I needed.
