Removing a sprocket from 1 piece cranks

OK, so I was at a bike swap yesterday.. and found these cranks..
I grabbed em, and brought them home.. a little "elbow grease" and they are bmx parts again! The right tool REALLY helps..

Re: Removing a sprocket from 1 piece cranks

There’s been some debate as that tool’s proper name.

Well, it clearly says "Trixie" right on it.. I have heard a few names myself..GAry

Re: Removing a sprocket from 1 piece cranks

Gary,  I have a similar tool with a hook end, but a pivot to accomodate different size nuts.    Ill email you a pic.

I bought a box of random hand tools years ago because it had some proto wrenches,   didnt even see the bike stuff in the bottom,  had the sprocket wrench and a few Park items in there.  Total bonus.

Hey, owner guy, this should be in the “Restoration” section!

lol tongue

Very nice, I need to keep my eye out for one of these wrenches.

I use to clamp it in a  bench vice. in the 80's . grab the sprocket then just steer it off.

I use to use a vice and a hammer. Thanks for showing the proper tool. I'm surprised Park tools never made the proper tool?

Re: Removing a sprocket from 1 piece cranks

I believe the tool is called a Hook Wrench. You could substitute Spanner for Wrench in some parts of the world, and of course some places selling them for their intended purpose, simply call them Bottom Bracket Wrench/Tool (with or without the word Hook).
