Brian I have never once ever called you a poser.

wink Just saying, Generalizations suck. Unless it's "the human race is dumb". then I totally agree. lol

Nothing wrong with collecting at all. It's just when certain collectors who fall into a specific category and have a certain attitude, now they are the ones I am referring to.You on the other hand Brian, have never been labeled as such.

I agree with you. I still have my 1966 VW bus 21 windows that I bought for $2000 in 1993 and today it's worth over $100,000. roll

Spyker is probably one of the fakest people on here. Would t worry about anything he says.
Constant negativity and he is always talking about things he never had any experience with.
I would say he is the ultimate poser.

Prices are crazy but I’m not done collecting it’s just hard to find a good deal worth buying so when you do find a good deal it make it that much sweeter big_smile

There are some of us who both collect and still ride.  I'm pretty sure I know what you meant (which is why I didn't comment initially).

I ride much-much-much more than I collect.  If I were collecting, I wouldn't choose this moment in time.  My collection is mostly personal bikes I kept and a few completes I bought a long while back, and occasional parts. The most I ever paid for a complete was $375 for a Pro Racer and I thought I was getting ripped off.  $220 for another Pro Racer, $250 for an 81 Motomag, and $150 for a 86 early TNT pro long.  That's it.  These are bikes with Profile cranks, high end parts, etc.  I sold the TNT alone for all that combined.  Best to wait things out.

What seems high now....might be considered low in a few years.
People might say in the coming years, just like they are saying now about buying a few years back...Damn I wish I would have bought back in 2021 when the prices were half of what they are now. tongue

I don't recall now, I didn't pay it much attention in the first place as it was just another NS but I remember the bragging after the fact because it made me laugh...

On a serious note, some NS frames and parts are very highly sought after! Lets say someone is selling a NOS Sunday Funday water melon frame and is asking 2K for it,you best be sure it will be sold real quick.
