Re: Vinyl and Vintage Audio Thread

I’m a total freak about dust around my TT. My stylus is so sensitive that the slightest amount on my records make them sound awful. I have this crazy cleaning routine every time i put on or flip a record lol

Everywhere else I couldn’t care less. I make my daughter dust wink

I dont do them every time I play them.. just if they need them. I haven't had to do any twice.... yet. Ha takes static away on new records too.

I’ve seen something similar. Legit cool

My carbon brush, Discwasher, then record DR roller routine seems to be doing the trick for now. Been hesitant to buy something that doesn’t fit in a drawer. But if I decide I need something better, I’ll definitely consider one. Thanks man!

This is my 40s era phono art portable tube powered  turn table.
Great display piece and has decent sound for its age.

Re: Vinyl and Vintage Audio Thread

Not vintage, more like Old School. Threw these on before night shift. It’s an odd mix but so what?! tongue

That's why I have that vintage portable one in our living room.
My wife likes it because it's an antique and it doesn't take up much room.
I have 3 different turntable stereo systems I'm my warehouse.
Pics coming soon........

not vintage audio, but Biz Markie claims to have the only 7" Technics.

I think I have him beat with my 3" setup.

Re: Vinyl and Vintage Audio Thread

They are belt driven.  Impossible to beat match with. Not to mention a pretty limited catalogue of 3” vinyl to select from. But fun all the same.

Re: Vinyl and Vintage Audio Thread

Got about another year on a motorcycle payment.. then this will be mine.. silver face... would get a nice cabinet that would put the technics and yamaha on top together, with the parks tube amp in the middle, hang tv on the wall..

Re: Vinyl and Vintage Audio Thread

I do have my collection catalogued on discogs, but it is private as I have zero interest in selling.

Trying to digitize it all for ease, but I still play quite a lot of it.

Re: Vinyl and Vintage Audio Thread

That Yamaha amp is awesome.  Weirdly, I am not an audiophile.  However I do appreciate great sounding systems/rooms and everything that goes into them.

I would say my collection is anything you can dance to, no matter the genre some magazine pigeon holes it into.

I am also a bit of a sample hunter, probably have 2-3k 45s.

Unfortunately I don't have all of my collection here in the states.

Not going to pair it with NS series speakers?

What are those ones you already have?  Can't tell from the pick.

About 20 years ago I found my way into an afterparty thingy for some kinda sportsball deal at the old Covered Wagon Saloon in SF. Biz was the DJ. It was so surreal. The "sound booth" was just to one side of the stage, quite a bit smaller than your standard port-a-potty, and usually occupied by a person of average-ish stature. Biz Markie filled that space up. My buddy and I asked him to play 'Just a Friend' or something and he politely told us to get bent, he was just deejaying the party. I really don't recall the conversation, just that he was super nice but focused on his job. Telling folks to F off, politely, is a serious skill. Much respect for The Biz.
