I was doing ball joints and outer tie rods on my neighbors 4 Runner today.Also had to replace the right cv axle,no matter what I did,it would not pop out.So I had to order a axle popper tool,just so I don't risk any damage to the transfer case tryin' to get the damn thing out with a pry bar.

Now if I were at the shop,the air hammer and proper fork would have done it easily.

Yup, that’s what I usually do when I get a stubborn drive axle. Break out the long air chisel bit and go to town, it hasn’t failed me yet. The air chisel is my go to tool for anything really, I use it to force out the old ball joints too and when they don’t wanna go, I spray a little WD in it and it’ll push out anything!
