Re: Saturday's score!

Coming along great. Keep up the good work. Opinions are like assholes for sure. That said, I wouldn't get rid of the Original decals. You cant get that back. And they seem to be decent and just faded.

I'd spray some sort of anti rust up in the tubes and do a disassemble reassemble, repack all the bearings, clean the rust spots. I am all for keeping it original but I hat the thought of it getting worse. We've heard stories of tubes looking good only to fall apart from internal rust. If you are going to keep it original why let it die a slow painful death, a little oil can help it last but still be original. I don't get the "OG" means let it rot mind set.

There are some rust holes from inside out! sadsad

Gonna throw some fajitas on grill tomorrow and have my 4 year old help me wash it and wax it see how it comes out. I am sure mags are gone tho!

I've cleaned up way worse mags.
Start by removing axles and bearings.
Coat all metal parts with Vaseline.
Then used a container and go with 5 gallons of water and 1 gallon of bleach.
Let soak 24 hours and they will be clean.
They might still be yellowed from age , and you could leave them like that or then use volume 40 hair peroxide on them.
Brush it on thick, cover with saran wrap and let sit in hot sun for 4 hours.
Rinse and flip over and do the other side.
As for the frame and forks I would just do a basic clean up.
Nice find !

Edit, I see you found other mags, looking good, nice save.

As long as the mags are structurally good, you can make them look good with some hydrogen peroxide and sunlight.

Yup,for what i have seen and heard that is the best way.
