Dumpster Diving for a GT

Happened about a minute ago.. Im on a tequila run and I see some bars sticking of this dumpster. Ain’t much but it’s got some goodies, gotta take what you can these days. I thought I took a pic of it in the dumpster but I guess not (no I didn’t start drinking yet tongue)

Hell yeah! My trail digging buddy was about to drop off his son's Kent for me to tear down and paint so he can give it to his daughter. I think this will be a much better frame to start with

Re: Dumpster Diving for a GT

I've saved a few from the garbage truck. We have a "large item removal day" around here where people can put out large items for pick up once a year. There are old lawn mowers, fridges, old freezers, lawn furniture etc...
Once a year on a specific day you put that stuff out on the curb and the next day the city picks it all up. A lot of people put their old bikes out there, I've snagged a few gems, cleaned them up, threw a chain, brakes, and some tires on them and flipped them.
Happens every spring. Made almost $1000 last year on the ones I picked up.

Re: Dumpster Diving for a GT

Good score. You need to check out Taco Bell dumpsters...they’ve got the best BMX scores.

that's freakin awesome! I'd be cruising for hours looking for scores. In my area trash pick up is on Monday, so if the weekend is nice weather-wise there's usually a good chance at least one person did some spring cleaning and left some bikes at the curb. I cruise the neighborhood on Sunday night to scope it out. I've pulled some OK bikes but no gems yet.

oh shit I just realized that 3ft dumpster must be like the boarder wall for you!! luckily with my giant 6' stature I was able to reach over pick the bike straight up by the handlebars. plus it was the bank's dumpster so there wasn't any nasty stuff in it.

I don't have an issue with you. I'm poking fun at your avatar, headline, and signature, which all infer that you are a midget (which you obviously aren't)

Dude, you joined here less than four months ago. You come on every thread to spread hate and discontent and then wonder why NO ONE likes you. If you don't want to climb in a dumpster, THEN DON'T but to post on a thread for NO OTHER REASON than to be an immature hatefull asshole, is unfuckingbelievable. Unreal. roll Contribute to BMX or shutthefuckup. Goddamn this place needs a cleansing.

I like the guy and don’t feel he spreads hate or discontent. There are people are far worse with being angry and hate filled. Yes he does post a lot but I don’t see a lot of negativity within for the most part. That’s just me.

well when the place you found and like. changes in to some thing you don't really like any more. it eats at you. that makes for a un happy member that starts to hate the way things are.

Re: Dumpster Diving for a GT

Too short? One of my bikes has an 18.5” top tube and it feels great! I certainly would recommend testing it before condemning based on the TT length, I'd certainly let the daughter ride it first to see which is liked better.

Anyway, nice to see it saved from the dumpster!
