Please.....no Tuff Wheels on full on race bikes...original graphite’s only and pre 81 and never on a cruiser for God’s sake
Let me guess you were factory sponsored in
the 80’s...
Please no colored tires on race bikes...
So how many years were you a Pro....
You knew a guy that had a Mongoose that weighed 12 pounds
What year did you mix it up with Stu?
Thinking about going 22”....do it...

What came first? the chicken or the egg.

I found this a few weeks back and it kinda threw everything in a loop.

It's a Z rim, right? no, no it isn't.  It's a Razer wheel made with Dupont Zytel.

Discuss.

Re: What year was the first ACS ZRIM?

Wasn’t Zytel was used to make Skyway Tuff mags as well?

I don’t think this was a situation of which came first but better marketing. ACS pushed the Zrims hard a lot of production bikes came equipped with them like my Ross. I think this topic has been neat to death but Zrims are pretty much for show rather than hard riding.

Re: What year was the first ACS ZRIM?

It opened lots of questions for me.

Were ACS called Razer before? not Razor as in the scooters.
Was Razer a sub brand of ACS that they decided to rename?

Or, was this a competitor if you could call it that that never came to fruition? it's all a bit of a mystery. Or was it a rip off that ACS shut down with a lawsuit?

Re: What year was the first ACS ZRIM?

Isn't Zytel where the 'Z' in z rims comes from ? Might have been a rebranding for a different market ?

Re: What year was the first ACS ZRIM?

I'd swear I saw them on untouched 1979 bikes, but maybe ACS called them "New" for a year after launch?
