1957 Schwinn Strandie 26

Built to look like it’s was rolling down Manhattan Beach 1980

Wanted a Laguna, Bassett, something So Cal cool..didn’t have the $. I scored the frame for $5.00, had the stem and seat. Everything else was purchased through BMX Guru and other “internet sources”..serial number shows it’s a 1957..rides like a dream and I imagine I’m Bob Haro popping wheelies on the strand when I hope on it...

Let me guess you were factory sponsored in
the 80’s...
Please no colored tires on race bikes...
What year did your cousin mix it up with Stu?
Thinking about going 22”....do it...
Over 45, +6 feet tall, and still racing…grab an OS20 and change your life…yep I ride a Dad Bike….

Nice.  Looks very similar to my 62 Schwinn I built up last year.  I never thought to submit it to the museum... maybe I'll do that!  I love the way these things ride.  Very smooth and comfortable.

Can't beat the price for that frame. Looks great.
