I love those Schwinns! The torque flites and beasts are classic tanks.
Always loved the bent down tube and flattened out top tube.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/262687/img_20200805_1921005f3595cecc.jpg compare the two and the Dyno wins as far as any tank I own

Does it take effort to get a bike to 40 lbs? I have a Blammo with a Megafork, and my bike weighs 35 lbs. I figure if a Blammo doesn't weigh 40 lbs you've got to be adding stuff on purpose to make it heavier.

Depends on the components mostly.  I’d be curious to see what the heaviest frames weighed but I’d be surprised if many were over 7 lbs.

The biggest tricks I’ve seen are the big steel pegs (easily 1 lb. each) and the double tire trick that some pros used.

Do you have triple wall rims on your Blammo?

I was always a weight weenie as much as one could be back then. I always tried to run what I could to save weight within reason. On my Blammo I had an aluminum seat post. I ran 2 aluminum pegs on my non-grind side and 2 steel on the other. I did run a front brake. Only had a 14mm axle on the rear. I had Sun BFR double wall rims. My cranks were aluminum GT Power Series 3 piece. I had a Hoffman HB sprocket. I think it's steel.

I think I weighed frame before the build...I'll see if I can find the numbers.
Definitely a porker but rides really well and no worries throwing it down a flight of stairs.

Re: The Tank Bike thread! Post Your Heavy Weights!!!

The chrmo 2hip Pork and DK SOB were super heavyweights I recall.  I would bet that Kuwi Mr. BIG is at least 10 lbs. The S&M were heavy as hell too. The Haros were huge but comparatively light, framewise.
