Question to the individuals who have had a custom Standard frame made in the last year:

How long did it take to receive your frame from when you placed your order?

I ordered mine in July 2019 and was told 8 to 10 weeks and I'm still waiting - 7 months now and no word on when it will be done.  The only difference from the stock frame that I'm having done is a euro BB and v-brake mounts on top of the seat stays.

Took about that long for mine. Long time but it was worth it. It's my favorite bike. I also have a Larid Frame that took around 2 months. I like my Standard way better but ya. It was like 7 months to get it..

Re: Standard Bykes post, lets get one started!! Post your bad a*s SBC's

Grabbed this custom 2015 250L frame the other day. 20.25TT and a nice 12.75" rear. Its SUPER light thanks to the 125R racing tubing used to build it. Yet another "1 of 1" I found. It was a real ugly teal so I stripped it raw and give it a quicky rattle can job for now. I took it out for a roll with the middle kid today

Pretty sure this is a 1999 TRLS250 OX.  I bought it as a complete from a friend around 2003.  Fork is rawed, and the stem has been milled by Ken at Zodiac.

Trying to find some inexpensive 3/8's wheels that are ride-able.  Any suggestions?  TNT hubs with Rhino Lites seem like a good option (probably going to run a 13 or 14t freewheel).  Trying to keep the wheelset around $225.

Salty vent post follows; read with caution.

Unless you’re willing to pay absolutely insane import duties and shipping fees - it is now literally impossible to get anything made by SBC outside of the US.

I’m just trying to get my head round how and why this happened and why apparently no one seems to care? Like, only a few years ago people in the UK (like me) could get hold of most anything they made - it was always fairly expensive but still attainable... now? Nope. Totally prohibitive costs.

I guess I’m in the minority who gives a shit, which is kinda frustrating.

Been wondering if it might be worth investigating if there’s other UK guys who are put off by the import costs and maybe everyone puts in on a big group order - maybe that would bring the cost down?

I dunno, I’m clutching at straws here...

Re: Standard Bykes post, lets get one started!! Post your bad a*s SBC's

CAUTION! Mid school gem loading up...

Per the original owner I bought this from, Carrie at SBC told him the was the last Shaman made.
The story goes like this:
He was trying to buy one from dans, but they didnt have any regular SBC decals left. He called SBC and they confirmed they had decals. In that time, Dans sold the last one they had. He called SBC back and they said they were finishing one more up and weren't gonna do any more, but it was brown. I guess the paint wasnt right on it so they offered it to him at a discount and told him they'd paint it any color he wanted. He went with Black. Today it became mine.https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/17430/4b266eb1-e176-46c8-b1a7-49907642487e5ea78dffdf.jpeg
