Question to the individuals who have had a custom Standard frame made in the last year:

How long did it take to receive your frame from when you placed your order?

I ordered mine in July 2019 and was told 8 to 10 weeks and I'm still waiting - 7 months now and no word on when it will be done.  The only difference from the stock frame that I'm having done is a euro BB and v-brake mounts on top of the seat stays.

They are slammed right now.  Just heard from Jess today. I ordered a stock STA before thanksgiving and they haven’t started it yet either.

Ordered a fork and took 5 months. Just got it. Sounds like a frame is longer to get.

Re: Standard Bykes post, lets get one started!! Post your bad a*s SBC's

I had a MasterGuard laying around for a while now. And I recently scored an early Waterford fork. Then I traded a Redneck stem for some hand grenades, so why not grab this 94 Shorty at the show? It's got a few chrome issues here & there but it's pretty clean and I've seen much worst than this. I don't pose my builds anyways so it won't stay clean too long after I start riding it. I gotta find some reasonably priced strips and a seatpost. I did break out a set of anniversary decals for it too!

Re: Standard Bykes post, lets get one started!! Post your bad a*s SBC's

New rider project I'm working on. Standard Pit Boss. Custom ordered with raw clear finish and black decals. Profile no boss cranks, Madera spline drive sprocket, custom wheels, demolition whistler laced to Fit Arc 2, Maxxis Torch tires with silkshield, Supercross SLT fork and seat, BSD post and stem, Cult race bars, Will be Odyssey brakes using left lever (had Standard weld extra cable guide for this). Wanted a light bike that is different and all around rider, fast and tough.

One question, first Standard. Please tell me the secret to the welded on cable stop that isn't threaded?

Maybe it’s for a bolt in London mod style setup? To run 2 cables? That’s for gyro stuff though. I’m curious now also.

Fairly simple. Your adjuster just slides in to that hole. The spring tension on the brake holds it in place and the nut adjusts the cable.

Would love to find my old Dirt Bike.  It was stolen in Pompano Beach, Florida in about 1996.  It's a '92 with the block graphics on a Green frame.  Pitchforks, Slam bars, King Headset, GT (DK-style) stem and GT/Profile cranks.  Superlace hubs.  Would really love to put this back in my collection.

It's not a bike but a small trove of 90s era stickers I recently found hiding in a box.

EDIT: replaced the image because I noticed the Tao's Om sticker was not oriented correctly (it was sideways)

A couple of others that also surfaced but were not specifically SBC and at this point is now tangential are a couple of Reaction stickers from Rob Ridge. In the mid-90s a few of us in the area had sent some ACS Boa brake arms to the UK for him to modify into his big bolt/radial bearing modded "Reaction Mega Brake". Those stickers were tossed in the box that carried the modded brakes on their return voyage from the UK. The brake itself surfaced several months ago while cleaning as well so you might be on to something! More cleaning!
