Re: 2020 GT Pro Series

Whenever I've been vertical like that during a wheelie it's mili-seconds before slamming onto the ground flat on my back.

Re: 2020 GT Pro Series

I figured it out now. The "Bike Life" movement is kinda like "Gang Life", they terrorize the streets, but with bikes. It's kinda cool TBH and tons of fun. Too bad I'm probably too old to join these kids lolsad

That vertical wheelie tho.. yikes

Makes me want to buy more Swatch watches and a pair of Vision Street Wear shoes. lol

I think it will sell just because it will attract a lot of attention wherever you take it, but it seems like a pretty hard job to decide what to wear on it. lol

Re: 2020 GT Pro Series

Got mine last night. It’s a pretty nice bike. Changed a few parts and too it out for an 11 mile ride. Even though it’s spec’d ok from the box I’ll be upgrading a lot of parts to make it how I want.http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/258735/874460ed-f4da-4c88-ab94-2770b8c7108c5d4b1203c4.jpeg

That's a cool bike. I think it'd look rad with chrome seatpost and chrome cranks. Great looking padset

Re: 2020 GT Pro Series

Had GT built a 2020 like this with a NS seat and 1 1/8 HT, it would have sold like hot cakes... https://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/gt_bicycles/38066

Of course, they could add their newest parts...

This would have been a very cool bike if GT built it,but it is not what the wheelie kids want.

Exactly why the wheelie kids could buy the 26" version...let us have a non wheelie version 24  big_smile

Re: 2020 GT Pro Series

In other words, a vintage replica with a modern integrated head tube.  They could even keep the geometry and BB....maybe even let it keep caliper brakes.

GT knows their is far more money involved in catering to the wheelie kids vs the old guys who want a retro bike.

True.  GT missed their opportunity, before the wheelie craze, to offer up a retro 24" bike to old guys.  Way too many choices to go with now and all the old guys who race cruiser class already have their favorites.

Re: 2020 GT Pro Series

The Pro Series are my favorite of this years GT bikes.  I just don't understand the gyro tabs with a v-brake.  I'm also not a fan of any v-brake other than Paul's because of my personal preference on brake feel/release.  I know a 990 and a 26" wheel would be difficult, but I still prefer the 990 brake style.

I keep buying and selling, so I guess I wasn't happy with the four I had left.

Just think what kind of impact GT would have made if they released a 2018 retro inspired 88 PFTT model! It could have easily giver Haro a run for their money.

Yes, for sure!  But hey, 1989 had the same frame... so we still have time left in 2019 and they can still call it an 87-89 retro!  haha big_smile

Since they're still using 85 and 86 decals on these last retro's..... maybe the next round will be 87-89 decals with the 87-89 double bend frames.  It is possible GT is doing a couple of years per year of design.  We keep seeing 85 and 86 colors....maybe 87 colors and designs are next

GT can release a 88 inspired team model bike 3 years from now and people will still rush out to buy it,so time is not a excuse for them. The company just chose not to give the people what they want....at least the older riders anyways.

Like the changes you’ve done, bike is much better but still unique. I’d ditch the boat anchor seat/post for something pivotal... get some Maxxis tires lose couple pounds just from that. I’d leave yellow though ... polished kinda boring on this, yellow makes it pop. Also if you are not going to use the pegs drop a pound ditching those

I hate the pegs but I’ve been riding my daughter to and from school on it!!! The yellow does pop but Im not a yellow fan. I was going to polish it and put all 90’s parts and stickers on it. I have 2 of these bikes so one will stay yellow and the other one polished.
