Where did the v-brake come from? I've never seen one like that, it's cool.

Brakes were prototypes. I know of 2 sets. I know why they never went further. They SUCK as brakes but look awesome.

Glad to see you finally built this one up, I was a little sorry to see it go.  Looks great, hope you enjoy it.  Those brakes are crazy cool! cool

I was waiting for you to see this. I owe a TON to Bender on this as he did all the polishing and sold me the brakes.

Badass as can be expected, Terry.  I'm curious to know how the breaks work, and why you're suggesting that they're not good.  The shape is similar to the Cane Creek Direct Curve, one of which I have and will put on something one of these days.

I remember seeing those brakes way back when & had always wished I had saved a pic of them.  Weird that I was just thinking about them a few days ago & now you post a pic!  Were they originally talked about on Vintage??

All of the hardware was stolen from those brakes. Main issue is the pull is way off center so one half is loaded very hard while the other is almost limp. There is a lot of flex in the arm at the pivot as well as the arm itself. I like very precise snappy brakes and these just do not fit the bill. They look awesome but will not be ridden on.

I have some thoughts on keeping the look but making it functional. I just love the concept of this brake and would like to have one.

Not much success with the tension screws?

When the fulcrum is 80/20 there is just not enough screw. Great look and idea but the math just does not work.

Here is a picture of a 26 and a 24 inch cruiser.  The 24 inch was mine and the guy testing it is a dad of a former National number 1.  The dad is using my CW helmet as well.http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/200046/img_90065d516d4476.jpg

Raced NBL from 1980-1986.  Final race was 17 expert (class and cruiser) at 1986 Grand's in Kentucky.

Cool pic.  The headtube angle on the 24" looks steep compared to the 26"!

"Are they leather dress shoes ???"  yes, it was the 80's.   He was just taking a spin.

WalkinTN- this could be a 26/24 setup as a 24/24.  Not sure.  I did have a 26/24 and then a 24,  Both sucked for racing so I finally got a 24" Profile cruiser to race.

Ya probably a 26/24 because the geomety is too tall for a 24". You had one of the 6 24" frames made?

My old ones for reference. Notice seat tube length on 24. Much shorter.

Great bikes you use to have Brian.  Bet you would have gotten a pretty penny for them.

Yes. Raced it but it was werid.  Traded it back to the bike store and got the 24.  The bike store was Northeast BMX in Coventry RI.  The owner was from cali and his son was semi pro out there, so he had contacts at nomura.
