Question about my Unitedbikeco bottom bracket:

https://p.vitalbmx.com/photos/products/ … 1305109380

Why are there 2 of those spacers included? I can only use 1, one the side where there is no sprocket?

This one is similar and comes with 1 spacer:

https://www.luxbmx.com/assets/full/SMEBB.jpg?1550794649

Bearing looks recessed a bit....

Re: WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON?

Yes they are, so I use the spacer only on the left side and the drive side it is taken care off by the sprocket adapter.

Is oldschool Duckhams Keenol white grease ok to use for the alloy cups in the alloy frame or what is best used?
I read something that if you use lithium based grease, it will accelerate the galvanic corrosion on alloy?

Keenol is a lithium based grease with zinc additive.

Some applications you can use the spacer on both sides.  i.e. some wider spaced frames like some of my 26 dirtjumpers running a ss cassette rear hub and a narrow euro bb.

I'm done working on bikes , time to move on from BMX/freestyle . It's been fun reliving my youth and love of BMX/freestyle bikes .  I met a bunch of great guys and a couple of ladies . Time to focus my time on family and my kids.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON?

I would like to gather your thoughts and opinions.  I am close to buying the parts to redo my wheels.  I am going to purchase a new set of hubs.  My question is, do you think an NOS set of old school hubs, or splurge for a nice set of Bullseye hubs.  My original thoughts on my project was keep it as old school as possible using as much NOS i could find.  However, that being said I did install a Sealed style BB so that opens the door to other options as well.  I just thought I would explore some ideas and other opinions.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON?

So I'm in the process of doing some cleaning of the hovel and have been making numerous trips to the dumpster. Laying next to the dumpster I see a bicycle.  Apparently it's a DK general lee cruiser- all in black (I'll post pics in a bit.)  The Tektro brake lever is broken off but the cable and everything else is still there. The bike was COVERED in kid stickers which I removed.  Btw sticker removal AND watching Star Trek - The Next Generation goes well together ( along with some Arizona Raspberry Iced Tea..I highly recommend it.)

Anyways - newbie stupid question - What sort of brake lever should  I go with? Also the dk "saddle" is super tiny and not very comfortable to sit on. Recommendations?

Lastly  -  I know Walmart sold DK bikes. How does one determine what is a LBS or Wally World version?

They weren't any different at wally world, they just stocked more entry level and sometimes a mid level bike.  My old General Lee was a Walmart bike and it was full 4130 with 3pcs cranks and DK flip flop macho hubs, etc.
