1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model

My childhood OG survivor.

This is my final and only remaining bike from the old days.  It is in excellent condition as I got my drivers license shortly after.  I consider myself fortunate that my parents never got rid of it, or that I never let it go.  I was close more than once.  I have decided to leave it in its original glory.  I have a few NOS replacement parts for it but it stays as is for now.  As you can tell from my collection, I like survivors and this one will always be.

Love it! You don't see too many surviving black frames either. The stickers make it extra special.

Instant fave with me!!big_smile

Don't mind me. I'm just here to look at pictures.

Yea, the day glow colors are cool, but I really wanted the Chairman's exact bike.  Martin has always been one of my favorite riders and it's really cool to see him riding again.  I can't tell you how many times I have thought about removing the extra decals only to decide that they keep it period and personal to me.  This is probably the most difficult bike I own.  I feel compelled to leave it alone to the point of not riding it.  The sentimental factor is a double edged sword for me.  Thanks for you appreciation.

I love the way it's been kept through time.  keep it OG.  Those are hard to come by.  I wish one of mine were like that but I took mine to hell in back.  Awesome to have in your collection

Re: 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model

Thanks for the props.  Yea I always wanted to do some better pics of my bikes, especially this one.  Unfortunately, it's in storage back in Boise.  Funny story about this bike, The last time I rode it seriously was here in Cali.  I pulled it off the ceiling and brought it with me during a demo job in Alameda.  We had a few months there demolishing a few buildings in the mid 90's.  I rode this baby all over Alameda in the evenings.   I found out later that some of the freeway chase scene in The Matrix Reloaded was later filmed where we were working.  There's a cool tie in with The Mythbusters as well.  I recently picked up a black 87 performer from Stewie that I'm cleaning up to be my current Cali rider.  Too me, You have to be rocking a GT if your rolling around California.  I'll be taking this one to Germany and in a few years, hopefully get the two side by side for some really cool pics.cool

Whoa that bike is sweet.   I dig black and the stickers pop nicely and nice move with OG.  That's so rare to find especially in black.    Will keep an eye out for tires and if I see them I will PM you.     Keep up the great work with these bikes.  KMXBIKES

Re: 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team Model

Thanks for the comments guys.  Yea this one is really special.  It got me back into BMX and really confirmed my love for GT.  I have a few newer ones from the 90's now too.  I love the old performers.  I recently bought an EF and can't wait to feel out the comparison.  So far, My Condor is the only other mid-school that's anywhere close to being as kick ass.

Nothing feels better than pulling treasures from your garage and reliving your childhood. Wish I was as wise as you to have kept all those bikes. Nice one there

Haha, so funny but so true.  I'm going through that process now of where to put them (hide them).
