Im going to say its more like putting SS badges on a 2001 Z28 (both had LS1 and made 305-320HP) since both frames are 7005 Aluminum made by SE and came with the Cro-mo landing gear forks.

Im glad rcsnipe knows his bikes because cars are not his forte apparently tongue

lol wink

Seriously though nice Box. Thanks for helping Identify the frame too big_smile

I'm hoping I can have this together by Next weekend.
I'm still waiting on the bearings and I went ahead and ordered new axles as it was comparable price wise to just go that route instead of getting individual cones.

@AlurencatBMX - Unfortunately those decals do not go with the blue scheme, sorry to disappoint but at least we know what it is and when I'm done ill post it in the Museum as an Assassin.

man i wish it only cost 10k, your not even in the ball park. lmao!!as far as the mechanic thing goes, thats not me, im a tech and theres a huge differance. mechanics bring the stuff they cant figure out, to the technicians, they got the brains.

as for the bike, just because it isnt a pk, doesnt mean its not worthy, the assasins are nice bike, they wernt the bottom of the barrel by any means. just not the top of the food chain.

look forward to seeing it complete.

Progress photos big_smile

I cleaned up the wheels, however there is still a bit of corrosion near the nipple area even though nipples are not rusted. Because of this spots on the rim have a bit of haze from said corrosion. Does anyone have an idea how to remove this? I was thinking of soaking them in Gasoline?

Pedals had a layer of dried grease, one did not spin and the other was tough to move. Thankfully the cups are good and so are the axles, bearings should be here soon...

Confirmed! The assassin is an 03' and the Forks are Full-CroMo Landing Gear

Re: Pet Cemetery - 2003 "SE Racing Assassin" back from the Rust Grave

American made Assassin's were 4130 chromoly and PK's were 6061t6 alloy. When SE started up again under ASI ownership in 2003, both the PK Ripper and Assassin's were 7005t6 alloy. The PK has gone the distance from 2003- 2019. The first three years of ASI SE PK's were 7005t6 and then when production went from Taiwan to China in 2006, all PK's since are 6061t6 again. The Assassin Pro and Expert only lived two or three years before the name was dropped. The frame geometry is different between the PK and the Assassin, most notably in the rear triangle.

Here's a pic of an all stock 03 Assassin Expert that djflo has for sale here and a pic of an 03 PK that I had.

Re: Pet Cemetery - 2003 "SE Racing Assassin" back from the Rust Grave

Got a weeee bit done this weekend.

Pedals completed(spin like butter) although I may trade/sell them in the furure, they are to heavy for my liking.

Rear wheel is greased and hardware installed however I have not tightened it all down, had to order a cone wrench. I still want to see if I can find a cone for the smaller freecoaster side as that cone is starting to form a pit.

I would have done the front wheel too but those cones are toast!

Sounds like an awesome S-10. lol

+1!!

i was going more towards the cross brands thing but you know. lol

rc

Now, GM did make an SS S-10 1994-1998.  I had an Apple Red 1995 S-10 SS in high school.  195 HP and all red and black.  It could take a 5.0 red light to red light, but it shut off at 110 MPH, so that part sucked.

I keep buying and selling, so I guess I wasn't happy with the four I had left.

You a truck guy 72ss454?
Do you know what this is and what it may be worth in present condition assuming it is running at all. I like it and was considering seeing if the owner was interested in selling.

Re: Pet Cemetery - 2003 "SE Racing Assassin" back from the Rust Grave

Just picked up some cranks!
I really did not want to use the OG ones and I wanted Chrome.

Not sure exactly what I have here, I think they are Profile cranks with GDH spindle but im not positive.
They are 175mm.

If they have threads on the outside edge of the spindle boss, I believe they are SE Racing cranks off a '08 to approx '11 complete.

I can only assume this is what you are referring to.
All I know is the spindle is drilled all the way through and the only marking is "175".
Regardless what they are im happy with em big_smile

No doubt they are great cranks. I've had several sets myself. I was referring to the spindle boss on the crank arms, the outside edge. I see they have threads. That is so you can thread a crank puller into the crank arm.

Re: Pet Cemetery - 2003 "SE Racing Assassin" back from the Rust Grave

Got the decals added finally!
First time ever applying decals. I like everything except for the "SE Racing", its to high up and one side is crooked.

I still need fork (Landing Gear), head tube and seatpost tube decals.

Also picking up some Chrome SE bars tomorrow... Maybe
Still bummed about the crank spindle hmm
