Re: RIP Burt Reynolds

Burt said that marrying Loni Anderson was the biggest mistake that he ever made on account of she was more interested in spending his money on shopping sprees.

Re: RIP Burt Reynolds

I've been seeing a trailer on Facebook for a remake of Smokey And The Bandit with Matthew McConahghey as The Bandit, Woody Harrelson as the Sonowman, John Goodman as Sherriff Buford T. Justice, Julia Roberts as Frog, and Burt Reynolds as Big Enos Burdett with Danny McBride as Little Enos Burdett. I'm hoping that the trailer is legit because it looks like the remake will be funnier than the original version.

Sometimes things are better to be left alone and not remade...this movie falls into that category. Nobody and I mean nobody will ever recapture the magic of what Jackie Gleason did in that movie. No disrespect to Mr. Reynolds or to the rest of the cast either...

Re: RIP Burt Reynolds

This would go down as one of the stupidest, pointless remakes of all time. Literally, the original movie is the one that knocked Star Wars off Number 1! Gleason ad libbed everything the entire movie (ignored the script per Burt Reynolds)!

Fake news.  I just checked youtube, it's a fan made fake trailer from June 2017.  The movie scenes are taken from other movies & spliced together (like the Woody Harrelson ones from Zombieland & Burt Reynolds from the Dukes of Hazzard movie).  Hope this link works.

And I totally agree with AJ, nobody could get near what Jackie Gleason did in that movie.

Which is very true and that magic I was talking about. Not many folks know that Jackie just freestyled 90% of his dialogue.
