Ah I was looking at those last night.  For the short term I think I will get a pair and then maybe consider some Odyssey Springfields or evo 2's if I need more gripping power.

These brakes are dirt cheap and offer SIGNIFICANTLY more tire clearance than odysseys. The Kool stop pad upgrade makes a huge difference as well.

I actually have a few sets of these on my bikes.

Prehistoric bump.
I have a set of these but haven’t tried them out yet. The couple bikes I had in mind are S&Ms with removable mounts and these brakes are not compatible with them.

Does anyone have experience with the Framed Defendant 22"? They have a hi-ten for little over $200 and a full chromo.

There a couple on the 22 inch Facebook group that have them. If you buy it, just be ready to upgrade as you go.

As much as I hated my Holmes, I'm getting another 22 soon in a trade deal.  Hopefully, I will give it a fair chance this time.

Why the hate for the Holmes?

I let myself get frustrated trying to figure out what fit me and my riding style.  I had an early model, I think the serial ended in 004 or something like that.  I swapped bars and stems so many times trying to find the sweet spot.  I think the biggest problem was trying to use it as my street bike, but I would ride it one day and couldn't get my basics, so then I would take one of my 20" bikes the next six times I was riding around town.  It was easy to just ride around and fit well as a cruiser, but that was not what I wanted at the time.  I was struggling to hop on the higher curbs as I soar like a large rock.  I loved the look of the bike, but is sat more than any bike I had at the time.  I'm out in the county now, but beside a school so I have a mix of off and on road obstacles to play with or I have room to build my own in my back yard if I wasn't so lazy.  Hell, I'm out of shape and just need to get off my ass and ride more.  New bikes keep me moving.  I've been lucky to have two different trades pop up at the right time.  I was working on two old Schwinn road bikes and was asked if I would trade for an OM Flyer.  Now, I am trading my Big Ripper, minus upgrades, for a brand new Fit 22.  May not be the smartest trade, price to price, but it fits my need as I wanted to get rid of the big 29 for something smaller.  Plus my girlfriend is still intimidated by the 24" Quad, so maybe start a little smaller.

Re: 22's Go Here

You know what I hate?

When you air up your tires, turn around to put your pump up, turn around to see the tube starting to stick out, and BOOM!!!!!  The damn tube explodes, sounds like a gun shot, and your ears won't stop ringing. lol

This is what happens when you get in a hurry and don't pay attention.  I got the Fit 22 and have had two busy nights not able to do anything with it and finally got home early enough to finish assembling the bike, just to turn around and have to order a new tube plus a spare and a set of rim strips, just in case.  As I sit here typing this, I just remembered I may have a spare tube at my parent's house from when I had the Holmes.

I actually said that I liked the bike. I was just commenting that I can't look at the stickers and see FIT, all I can think of is SnM. No dislike, not bad feelings or negativity. I just thought it was a funny joke. SnM always had an immature sense of humor that goes over well in the BMX world.

Though that is pretty awesome, I have never been the biggest SE fan. I don't hate on them, they are just not my cup of tea.
