I really like it, and have thought about building something similar to this idea for over 2 decades. I figured it was custom, but curious about the frame, the rest is just bits and pieces, although nicely put together. It's all hills here where I live, so having an extra gear or 5 would be nice, especially on the trip home from wherever, lol. I realised how tiring a BMX is here after riding around a Gary Fisher BMX for a while last summer, just locally. Sold that bike to a neighbourhood kid for the $60 I had into it, hopefully he's out riding it this summer.

I totally get it.
My neighborhood I grew in was like that.
We lived close to the top of the hill, so anywhere we wanted to go was downhill.
The ride home always sucked. Kinda wished it was the reverse. Climb a hill to go somewhere
when my legs are fresh. Ride down the hill to go home when I'm already gassed out from
playing hard.   lol

I'm on the flat in a valley, but it's no more than a mile or so and it's all hills. Getting home isn't so bad, but it's still tiring. I'll admit, I'm out of shape. tongue

Picked up a mountain bike/cruiser kind of thing, got it cheap, but it's fairly low end. I'll have to do a little research and see how bad it actually is, lol. Not one single part on it looks to be of any real quality, but the frame looks halfway decent, for a start anyway.

Nothing fancy, but I picked up a early 2000's Brava for $85 last fall.   Beat to hell, but I love it. I call her Forbea, the Bianchi Brava Beater Bike.

Nearly forgot about this one. Fox shock needs to be rebuilt. Everything else is solid. FS.

That Yeti Cruiser at the end is truly Grail status.  I thought I saw one of those crusiers on eBay recently, but it was someone trying to sell a phony. I reported it but eBay didn't take it down.

Re: Vintage mountain bikes.Whos gottem??

Got this is the mail a few days ago, finally got a few minutes to unbox it. Not too much info on this, but the deal was just too good to pass up in my opinion. Sadly the correct stembolt that the front brake cable go through wasn’t in the box. Hopefully the seller forgot to put it in the box, if not I make one. First time owning a Cinelli, can’t wait to take it for a ride. cool

Re: Vintage mountain bikes.Whos gottem??

1988 JAMIS EXPLORER XR:
This bike was my birthday present for my 14th birthday. This bike was ridden Philadelphia city ridden hard in its life time. I mean really hard. And it was even woods ridden hard. Lots of rims were taco’ed. Lots of derailers ripped off, crank arms, chainrings and even the protective rock rings were torn apart. I recall starting at the top of the famous art museum steps and by the time I was near the bottom I completely cleared the last flight of stairs. When I landed I bent the handlebars symmetrical on both sides you were swear they were just normal bars with the “rise” turned upside down. Almost every single part has been changed on this bike multiple times. OG parts that remain are the stem and brakes. And of course this amazing frame that will NOT die and completely changed the way I look at all Jamis bikes. Enjoy:http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/220163/638d90f4-c0c0-4b0a-9a98-e847a9d7d3d45cca3ba90c.jpeg

This is nothing special other than it's been my wife's bike for 25 years. I gave it a thorough cleaning and tuneup with new parts as needed. 90.00 including chain, freewheel, pads, tires, etc. Totally worth it.

Also building her a KHS montana-based SS since she won't let me SS this out. Meanwhile, enjoy this bicycle equivalent of a cherry 1974 4-door straight 6 Chevy Nova.

Very cool. My first mountain bike was an Extreme, 1992 I think. Loved that bike. I’ll post pics of my 1994 Stumpjumper on Wednesday when I get it finished.
