I will have an issue with AME if they do sell them for $6.20 since the price they sell them to distributors for is higher than that - which means the bike shop price is much higher.

One more thing - I just put a pair of Tri's in the shopping cart at A'ME... $6.20 for the grips. $11.95 for shipping - total cost: $18.20 for a pair of grips that cost under $11 total shipped price from anywhere.

The local bike shop here sells new AME tris and rounds for 6.95 + tax.

How many colors? smile

Nope.  Oakley only made like 500 sets.  At Interbike,  I pretty much begged an Oakley rep to make more, and that I would order at least 400 sets for starters, and they said, "Sorry!"
The ones they made are for "VIP use...."

Re: Repop Oakley B1B grips and AME Cam grips

Hmm...i knew that these would be making a comeback.  I talked to John about 3 years ago on remaking the duals and unitrons.  This was before they moved to Nevada.  he did tell me that the Unitron mold was gone, but they did have the dual mold.  I wanted to do a run of them to try out.  Basically he told me unless i would order 500 OF ONE COLOR COMBO they most likely wouldnt' do it.

The more i begged, the more he started to budge. But like Justin said, they had told me they would do it  at some point.  that was 3 years ago...

And the problem with doing a run of 500 is they will just run a few hundred more and sell them to anyone who wants to buy them.. and you're stuck sitting on 500 pair per color with 10 other people on E-bay who only had to buy 10 pair. Supposedly John already did that to one company - and Hunt Wilde did that to me last year. They make you cover all of the costs to insure they get a profitable production run, and then take away the only incentive for the person getting them made (exclusivity).

Re: Repop Oakley B1B grips and AME Cam grips

I bought three pairs from a seller on eBay thinking that they were originals.  Beware of this guy - here is a note I got from him.  He was acting like these were originals.  Then, when I figured it out, he changed his story and told me that a friend got them for him at Interbike.

Note from Seller:
"hey stan wow i did not expect them to sell that fast . I found them at my parents house . they are shipping me a box of my old school bmx stuff out monday . I will have them in a few days and get them right to you. and yes its for 2 pair"
