24” Hawk sighting

I picked up a free 90’s Park Pre mtb today then I ran across a guy riding this Hawk. http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/12937/f73c8f8d-51c2-49e6-bcf9-5f9542b5e7b35cbbccaa02.jpeg

Re: 24” Hawk sighting

Is that a 20” frame built as a 24” cruiser? Rear tire is nearly buzzing the brake bridge with the wheel way the heck back in the dropout.

Wiggum- Good catch- looks like it probably is a 20”.

Freak- I did ask and he wasn’t selling, but gave me his number and I shot him a text right away with my contact info.

Re: 24” Hawk sighting

Wow. Kinda sad. Dropouts and seat mast are a crack waiting to happen.

It's yours. Do what you want with it smile

Re: 24” Hawk sighting

I think i saw a Hawk before at a bmx show, guy was riding a 20 like that, the bottom bracket set to high also. This one might be a 24 but that brake bridge is in the wrong place and does not look original.Guy must have bought an unfinished frame when they closed up and added the brake bridge.
Here is my Pro 24,the wheel is back a bit in drop out too.http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/39840/dscn400315cbcb351da.jpg

Re: 24” Hawk sighting

The brake bridge is definitely not hawk . Wasn't there an intruder or something like that? Also I thought someone hear found the tubing and were welding them more recently.

Re: 24” Hawk sighting

It might be a 95-97 xxl 20 inch frame with 24 wheels on it.After looking at later Hawk bikes before they closed up i did see a few with a brake bridge like that in that position on frame.Could be the same bike i saw at a show about 3 years ago.

And look at the position of the brake pads, that’s definitely a 20” frame.

Re: 24” Hawk sighting

It's just a raw 1994 20 inch.  In 1993 the chainstays had 2 welds and in 1995 they had none.
The brake bridge is factory also it's just missing the brake plate, that's why it looks different.
Here is a pic of a 1994 without the brake plate.  Same, same.

Re: 24” Hawk sighting

It's a f-20L. Last iteration of the tapered frames, you can tell by the single welded seam on the inside of the chain stay. Frame is missing the bolted brake plate.
