1983 Diamond Back Viper

This was what we all started out with before we got out onto the track and realized this was way too heavy....

I bought this on Ebay back in 10/18 for $380 from mcd5808. This was the last DB I was missing from what I remembered to be the DB lineup in '83 and '84. Came a bit messy so I did my first cleanup job on this one and chronicled it here - https://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=778961 To make sure everything was accurate I used Museum DB expert Rareair (aka Glenn) for tips and advice. Most of the details here are based on his knowledge. I'm missing the original pedals, but am staying on the look out for some HTI MX's.

Might be heavy, but it's damn cool.

Super clean looking chrome and black DB, favourited!...

And you seem to know your DB's, any idea who made the cranks for the viper/pacer 500 (84 ideally)? I know they were stamped Taiwan and maybe 165 size? smile

Re: 1983 Diamond Back Viper

Pedals should be HTI-828. I have the original set from my 83 Viper.
