Re: BMX for my son

Holy smokes....

What age/size is your son?

What does he like to do (race, freestyle, parks, dirt jumps)

Welcome to the Museum.  smile

Hutch Fun Facts: All main line Hutch's with digits only S/N (no letters or baseballs) on the rear drop outs were US made and had their dropouts stamped between late '83 and '86.  Obviously the frame manufacture would occur slightly after that, even if they just threw 'em in a bucket randomly.  There is an obvious date code in that the first 2 digits seem to be the month and the 3rd digit is pretty obviously the last digit of the year running from '83-'86.

Re: BMX for my son

You have the options of having pedals or  Not.  Strider only  Or Pedals.  Also there a considerable amount less than 600 dollars, And There not junk by any means.

Re: BMX for my son

If he hasn't learned to ride yet I would suggest a Strider and see if he wants to get started in racing.  It's hard to say who has more fun at the Strider races, the kids or the parents.  It a blast to watch.  If he's already pedaling or close to it I would recommend the 16" SE Bronco, comes with training wheels if needed for $169.00 Shipped to your door.  My son is tall and is now 8 and he rides a 20" SE Bronco Mini, good quality for the price.  Your budget is very considerate, but high at this point.  It should cover his next couple bikes.  Here is a link.
