Re: The Million Dollar Bmx Collection

I recently rode my motorcycle around the US and visited Jeff at HIS house - no he does'nt live in his mothers basement and yes he's a regular hard working self employed guy,not a trust fund baby.
As we know he's been collecting forever - he told me he just wanted to have a display case like in the shops when he was a kid and it just snowballed from there - as he aquired more frame sets,he needed more parts to build them and many times the shops would only sell the whole lot, just to get rid of the stuff - it was obsolete and of no use to them - sizes and parts had "evolved".
He was buying the stuff at original 1980's prices in the early 2000's and probably alot less in some cases - he was'nt doing this thinking old skool BMX was going to blow up and he was going to make big cash - he has a genuine love for these bikes and always has - the rest of us stepped away for 20+ years - Jeff never did - he really is the genuine article .
Of course he's playing on the same field as the rest of us now and has put out good money for bikes and parts he still wants, but he's playing with profit which is nice.
Jeff's a class act and one of the nicest guy's you'd want to meet

Re: The Million Dollar Bmx Collection

Cool article!  Bought several items from Jeff & his brother Richie years back, both are serious class acts.  I'd be in my car is seconds to go check out Jeff's collection.  Shoot, I'd be on my way just to check out the Redline looptail & monoshock bikes, as well as the 24" Nomura! cool

Re: The Million Dollar Bmx Collection

Reviving an old thread but I just realized that Jeff rode for Sport Cycle (Mr Vernon) BITD. Mr Vernon was kind of a gruff dude but I always loved going to that shop cool

Re: The Million Dollar Bmx Collection

With regards to Jeff's money, yes that is his business, and his business is on the level, those who question it show their jealousy, and immaturity.  Jeff bought some of my collection and it was a very smooth and pleasant transaction, in fact, it was a few years before I said yes to his offers.  Class act.

Re: The Million Dollar Bmx Collection

Jeff's collection is about as good as it gets. The guy had been running across the states buying out old bike shops before Ebay was even around. cool
