Any info on these Power Series cranks? Pink, purple, mountain bike?

Hey all,

I saw these on Ebay and took a chance.  I got them today and am wondering if anyone has any more info about these.

2 arms, both dated 89A, ultralight BMX bottom bracket,  what appears to be a Hutch disk.

In this picture you can see the shadow or remnants of the GT Power Series script.

Squares are in great shape, and all the hardware looks to be OG.

Re: Any info on these Power Series cranks? Pink, purple, mountain bike?

So I'm wondering if anyone has any information on these.  Obviously someone could have had them anodized any time after they were purchased.  Did GT offer anything like this for their mountain bike line?  Factory rider?  Someone who just loves pink? Who knows, let's have some discussion.

Really?  That's cool.   I've seen the white cranks and been told they are MTB cranks, but didn't know anything about these.

Dang, I was hoping for at least some theories, info, etc.  Probably someone along the way had them anodized for their kid or something, but this is BMX so they HAVE to be a prototype of some kind.   Just a bummer it got moved into this section 'cause that's pretty much a thread killer.

Oh, and the Hutch disk is cleaning up perfectly.  big_smile

here is a theory,

maybe they were anodized red at one time, but after 30 years they have “gracefully” faded to a pink color.

That's not a bad theory.
