If it's like other things there will be people who say they "might" or "hope", and then very few actually do.

Sorry if I sound jaded, but I see it on here and a lot personally on a daily basis. There was a comic-con nearby back in September, and a guy I know who claims to be a big fan wanted to go. When it came time he made like he didn't have $8 for a ticket. Told him about the one that will be next week in Greensboro months ago, and he was "definitely" going to that. But now he says he can't afford to go to that either...2 months to save for a $10 ticket.

I don't understand people are into something, and then an event happens and people don't bother to go. BMX events, comic-cons, etc don't happen every month, not around me any way.

Sometimes people plan to do things, but then a family member dies or the wife makes other plans for you on the same day. That’s what seems to happen to me anyway. hmm
With that said, I plan on going lol

I'd let someone slide on a funeral, but other stuff? My brother-in-law lives in a neighborhood so he can't just go out and jump on his ATV any time and ride. I have a friend that might do a get-together twice a year. I invited my brother-in-law, but he had to mow his yard. That's the stuff that gets to me.

Re: North Carolina Riders

I'll be there for the morning time, but will have to leave shortly after noon.  I'm going to bring at least 5, maybe 6 bikes, depending on if I can finish building this last one (an MCS).

Re: North Carolina Riders

I had to take off of work to attend this one. I guess some guys are not as serious about bikes like others so they use any excuse not to attend sometimes. This appears to be the largest bike show in the mid-atlantic/ southeast so I wouldn't miss it. There are some BMX guys that won't come due to it being a general bike show and not BMX specific but I like seeing them all especially the custom stuff. I just hope more and more guys show up each year to really put it on the map and get more national attention. I'd like to bring some vintage mtb's as well someday.

Also, it hasn't been confirmed but could be $5 entry per bike so bring as many as you like and choose which bike/bikes to enter. I plan to bring 3-4 bikes.

Re: North Carolina Riders

Todd is that show all the bikes you want but $5 per bike to be entered into contest?  Because if that is $5 per bike to show I will thin it down from bringing 9 bikes to 4 or so.

Not sure yet Rick. Brian asked the organizers already but no answer yet. I went to it in 2016 and I think it was per bike. You can always bring 9 bikes and pay for entry on only 4 of them. It should never cost anything to display bikes but to be judged and entered for show awards there will be a fee most of the time. I will hit them up to confirm.

Re: North Carolina Riders

Regarding the show; It is confirmed as of right now there will be a charge of $5 per bike. There will not be a display only area so bikes cannot be displayed for free. sad . However, if you wanted to display several of your bikes without paying $5 each you can buy a seller spot for $10 to put them in.

Re: North Carolina Riders

I could probably bring a couple of bikes to show or some stuff to sell.
Is everyone coming out or what?

I may try to come out early. Father/daughter dance is that evening. Will we be able to ride our bikes indoors between displays? It's the only way I'll bring one out.

Hope you make it out JT. There may be some room to roll through as the hall is 20,000 sq. ft. Last year they had 10,000 sq. ft. and they say it was pretty full. Good thing they got a bigger space this year as there were no BMX bikes last year and we could have a fair amount of them.
