Hey is there a cable guide on those forks?

I love the Patriot bars they are such a comfortable bar just like 1st gen Q bars. I was going for a very specific look for this bike and no other bar would work I tried quite a few bars even the prototype Standard strip bars I have and it still had to be the Patriots. The forks do not have any cable guides there was no need since all the magic happens inside the steerer tube.

I ask because I have a chrome set with no brake cable and I hadn't seen that before. I wondered if mine might actually be a Basic fork.

Just finished building Dave Freimuth`s 1992 Gardner Lengthy. I`ve been working on this one for a while now trying to select the right parts for the build. I`ve been wanting to build this frame for years so I`m pretty stoked that it`s finally done. The bike was built in my normal fashion every part is original finish & decal and period correct. The parts list is at the bottom of the page smile

So maybe an early set?

Re: The Standard Bykes 1" thread post`em up!

Definitely time for a bump on this thread. The latest addition and build project. 1993 Standard Byke Co Shorty #14. This survivor is from the 1st batch of 20 production Waterford frames delivered to Standard in 1993. A awesome survivor and a bike I've been waiting to build for a very long time. Hoping to do this bike justice with some great period correct parts.

Re: The Standard Bykes 1" thread post`em up!

I'm trying to keep this thread alive. I know you guys have 1" headtube Standards out there so let's see them. smile I don't want to see any negative comments in this thread and I don't care how hardcore you think you might be. This thread is to enjoy the early Lengthy and shorty frames share pictures and stories

So cool. Love it and all the info. Easily one of my favorite threads on the Museum.

Love the GT power disc  / Masterguard and old GT power series cranks. You can tell the previous owner pulled those off his last bike (probably an 87 GT Pro Performer / PFT)
