When did you stop and why?

If my phone locks the server times out and then I have to rewrite/post it all. Gets time consuming. I still try to post when I have time.

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***
They wanted the serial numbers.
Actually, Serial numbers are optional, you can put None or anything like that.
Also they dont show on the site, and have been very useful in the recovery of several stolen bikes.. GAry

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***
I tried once, eight years ago, and my power went out during a storm. I'm still pissed off, so I have yet to try again.
I keep thinking I might one day soon. Nothing special, just three SE cruisers, my 87 Predator, and a S&M or two if I buy a wheelset.

I keep buying and selling, so I guess I wasn't happy with the four I had left.

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***
I don't delete sold bikes. Just mark them sold. or what not. If you delete them you delete them from history IMO, which is what this site is about
If you haven't seen the magical stars floating around whilst lying face down in the mud you ain't lived.
"If you asked me what era of BMX I preferred I would look at you blankly and say all of them. If you never stopped riding you wouldn't look back with fond memories you'd create them instead. I come from 'any school'"

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***
We usually build, ride, and flip on a regular basis so I haven't submitted any in a while. We might be slowing down now though; think we found the keepers LOL.
FWIW, I've sold a few completes on this site over the years so I delete them from My Bikes in case the new owner wants to put it up on the Museum.

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***
I list mine for the history part. Everyone builds bikes differently and I appreciate that and like to see how folks set their bikes up. It always brings me down memory lane from late seventies and early eighties. My bikes are all survivors and that is what gets posted. They don't need to look pretty and be all polished, etc.. I haven't had anyone post anything negative regarding my posted bikes, only positive comments. I also edit my post if I sell them with the added line, "bike sold".

Contrary to what I used to do, I only list completes these days. I've been distracted from building for some time now, but that will change in the near future. #tnt #elf #boss #robinson

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***
I think I post at least 1 bike a year, got a couple that I've been riding for awhile that I haven't sat down to post yet. I switch parts around like crazy, sometimes for like 6 months after I build a bike. If I can't ride it how I want to ride it, I just try different things in the parts bin until I find something that works, even if it wasn't part of the original plan. I don't want to submit a bike I know I'm gonna change certain things on in a week or a month or whatever, then I have to take new pics and update the listing and whatnot. Plus, nobody wants to see my crappy nomad parts that I keep switching from frame to frame
Relax.
Balance.
Focus.

This is why I haven't posted any of my bikes. I build them for me and my family to ride and enjoy. Want to see them, come to a gathering or a ride.

Re: ***WHY DID YOU STOP SUBMITTING YOUR BIKES***
Still in the process of building them. Really don't want to submit just the F/F and keep adding progress pics that many won't notice anyway. That's why I do build threads nowadays plus when I do have a beautiful day off the weather ruins my photo opt skills...lol!
