Re: Hardest TIRES to find
I totally agree with Adam about getting the right tires for my bikes . I waited and waited for white panaracer freestyle tires to come up for my rl22 and I'm glad I did. It looks so right ! Kenda tires would have made me sick to look at!

Panaracer that look like compIII's. Came stock on a RL 600a. I have only seen one set on a bike on the site.
The Panaracer Knarler Knobby I believe it was (Panaracer used to be called NTKK). They are doing a short run of these in September/October in 20 x 1.75
Good to hear! didnt the NTKK's come on Kuwahara KZ-1's in the early 80's?
BTW Moonster I ordered some Panaracer HP406's from your web site today, good deal for the pair looking forward to put them on a RL-20 II with HP 48's
You guys are confusing National Tire Knarler Knobbies with NTKK. Two completely different companies and tires.
Let's go Philadelpha Eagles!

Re: Hardest TIRES to find
What I'm trying to say is maybe its not everyone's taste to go after rare tires for builds. Hell the tires actually may suck to use even if nos. look at a classic car a corvette for example. The correct radial looks rad and there is no substitute! I love the hunt for the tough to get items , it's how I like to build. Realistically all the entries for rare tires on this thread will not be around when we are old and grey . Tires just rot over time. I doubt there will be very many survivors of quality in future anyways. This is a cool thread because I didn't realize some of these rare tires existed in colours they do. Cool!

Panaracer used to be called National Tire Kabushiki Kaisha (National Tire Co., Ltd in English), which is why I call them NTKK, still do, even when talking with Panaracer. Don't know much about the other NTKK which existed.

Re: Hardest TIRES to find
Confirmed with Panasonic today that the old NTKK tires people talk about are in fact Panaracers as I always believed
NTKK means National Tire Kabushiki Kaisha which is National Tire Co., Ltd which was their old name
They still make this tire today and the model number is still NTKK 3H202-MXB

Re: Hardest TIRES to find
Not sure if these have been mentioned yet but they seem pretty rare, Mitsuboshi Silver Star, Competition II, all black tread & side walls, there is no evidence of any label present so I'm going to presume they would have been yellow???
The 2 I have are both 20x1.75 and beat to hell, cracks, splits, missing nubs, brake wear, you name it but they are holding 20psi and that's enough for display I suppose.
Always looking for nice / rare SKYWAY bikes, parts & gear.

I'll put Odyssey Renegade T20's on that list. I've seen 2 sets since 2005 and I bought 1. I missed the second set.

Re: Hardest TIRES to find
id say any 35+ year old tire is going to be hard to come by and even harder to find at an affordable price.

Clear tires with clear mags? I have to see these. That would be sick.
