Where do I start!
this Melton cycle JFR 22 has a lot of history.
I have wanted one for a long time glad I waited.
I pick this up from teachbmxcharlie  for an awesome price.
After talking to Charlie and Lenny I found out that this bike was the first prototype made and  ridden by Tom Dugan and other pros which I have seen on YouTube .
So I am extremely excited that I own the very first one coolcool

Re: Melton's Cycle Shop - New Builds - New Items

I just updated my Twin Peeks!  Really happy with how it turned out.  I'm a huge Profile fan too...  wink

Sorry Damien, I've changed it somewhat from your original vision for it but I hope you still like it!  big_smile

I forgot about that lol  I forgot that I had 2 raw sets, first ones I sold to you, second ones and a chrome set as well went to somebody in Puerto Rico.

That build is very sweet.  Never was a fan of raw and chrome together til I saw Damien's build, this one is very nice too.

Re: Melton's Cycle Shop - New Builds - New Items

I know it's an old thread now, but do Meltons do limited runs and then move on to the next project, or are they built to order?
Do they have a website?

Thanks....sick bikes, especially the 22's

Re: Melton's Cycle Shop - New Builds - New Items

I think the best way to get a Melton's custom right now is to buy a Mopar and have a load of cash ready. You'll get a 10 second car though.

Lenny owns a bike shop in north carolina and still posts on here occasionally. You can also find him on facebook. Im not sure if he has future plans to make more frames or not. His frames were made by Pedal Driven Cycles.

I don't think Lenny is messing with bikes much since his boys have gotten older. He's back into fixing drag racers.

Lenny was a pleasure to deal with when I made purchases from him, also got a kick out of his southern accent and he found my canuck accent amusing too!

Cool to see this thread pop up again.  Lenny is amazing to work with. Still have both of mine. I am thinking about selling the Twin Peaks as I just never rode it.  And now I am spending all my time on vintage motocross bikes.  I’ll keep the JFK forever though.

very nice bikes smile
Why didnt you ride the twin peaks?
VMX will eat money like crazy, though I see see the attraction.

Re: Melton's Cycle Shop - New Builds - New Items

Honestly, my kids didn’t take to BMX like I hoped they would.  And when I do ride I just always seem to take the JFK.  Not that I don’t like the Twin Peaks, just not enough riding to justify it.

Re: Melton's Cycle Shop - New Builds - New Items

fair enough.
I should stick to BMX. Had a ummm a moment, yeah that's it, on my CRF450x today.
Come round a corner, log on the road, into the ditch lol.
I stayed upright, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that a little bit of weewee came out during this excursion lol.
I'm in love with electric start now, after years of having to kick my old XR400.
Good luck with the VMX big_smile

Motocross is a cruel mistress. This is from an accident in 2001.  https://s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/143646/84309089-98af-45d2-905a-e52a5fe456045e526de78a.jpeg
