Re: Vintage mountain bikes.Whos gottem??

Holy F**K!!!! Just picked this up from the original owner. He use to race it back in the day. Hasn’t been ridden since the mid 90s. Bullseye cranks, super rare olive green ringle components. They neon yellow isn’t even faded. Wasn’t cheap but can’t belive it’s in my hands big_smileyikesbig_smileyikes

A little funky but it's comfortable.http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/23875/20180302_1701035a99d23e8c.jpg

Re: Vintage mountain bikes.Whos gottem??

Hi all,

I fell into the BMX vortex while researching stock pedals for a mountain bike restoration...

It's a 1983 Ritchey Everest.... epic old school MTB.

Stock pedal Options are...
Titron... I pooped a little when I found out what the market for these are. $$$$!

Suntour MP1000  not quite so bad, but apparently pretty rare.

Suntour XC-I or II  tons around but man....NOS is $$$$

Please don't laugh at the pedal placeholders... they aren't period correct, but they do hold a shoe well enough. Waiting for some of the above to tickle my Buy button.

So anyway, in an attempt at familiarity ...I know MTB all day.... Total BMX novice, I didn't pay attention to what I had when I was 7 sad

Thewhitelarrybird.... Your Yeti's are amazing, that zephyr is insane!

JimmyJ get that Ritchey rollin! Going to be awesome!

Going to pick up what appears to be an all Original 1988 Miyata Ridge Runner here in an hour.
Looking forward to a new project.

Out of the 1988 Catalog:

http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/39250/ridge-runner-og5ab15898c0.jpg

From the sales ad:

This bike is in great shape. Its been stored in a garage its whole life and used very little. Everything works very well. It just needs a good home.

Re: Vintage mountain bikes.Whos gottem??

Under the dust this is pristine, shame about the pink decals though.
Gonna be an ideal donor bike, all the parts are getting swapped onto my wife's old Kuwahara that she loves (parts are all junk though)

Re: Vintage mountain bikes.Whos gottem??

So I sold the tires and switched out the following parts off the Miyata onto my wife’s Kuwahara:
Forks
Headset
Bottom bracket
Cranks
Pedals
Wheels
Front derailer
Bars
Stem
Shifters
Brake levers

Just had it out and it cruises real nice
