Not really.  Its a great question. Seems every poster is confusing their holy grail with THE holy grail of bmx.

but thats his whole point.. there is no holy grail only peoples holy grail.

Understood.
I stated earlier that I imagine that THE HG of BMX would be some example of a bike that took part in the earliest official organized BMX races.
Just an opinion but I believe it makes sense.
THE holy grail of bmx is (or could be) different from my holy grail of bmx.
OP did not ask what is your HG of BMX but rather "the".

for the sake of argument....If there was an official HG of BMX given my parameters (example of a bike that took part in the earliest official organized BMX races)...what would that be?

I must admit I made this mistake when I posted before BUT it would still be hard to narrow it down....maybe the first Redline frame made?  It would have to be the first or prototype that was the genesis of what we know as BMX of today....hard question though.  I think it would transcend anybody's personal race bike.....Stu's, Scot etc......

This is kind of what I figured, but I was thinking more of an example of one that was made specifically for bmx racing, like an early Redline or so, as a previous poster mentioned.

Re: What is the Holy Grail of BMX??

I finally got my personal Holy Grail Item off of flea bay today. It is a Redline head tube prismatic decal. I had one on my old MXII but in stupidity removed it for a new decal kit eight years ago. I finally got one again! http://uploads.bmxmuseum.com/user-images/241070/prism5a7e5b181d.jpg

Re: What is the Holy Grail of BMX??

This is infact a bad question. If there was one holy grail thing that only one existed and it was storied, and was sought after, we probably wouldn't even know what this thing is.

Someone's pre company test bike/frame/part they made before production? Some production piece that only had one survivor? Nobody could quantify what the one most coveted thing is, and not everyone will agree.

Even as it something old school is probably the most valuable item, whether it be some bike, or part. However that said, I won't care, or consider it worth much more than scrap, simply because it's old school.

Collection Complete. If you want to see my actual bikes http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=633623. I stopped adding to MY BIKES because of hassle of uploading

HuffyRider87 claims I'm a 'seathole' because he low-balled me on a bike, claiming its worth nothing and 'just a Huffy' and I told his ass whats up. Just a Huffy you wanted, and dont have. LOL.

Re: What is the Holy Grail of BMX??

In my opinion, Woody Itson's gold plated Trick Star and actual Kuwahara ET used for the movie are the 2 grails. Just because they are the most famous.
