1999 Specialized Fatboy A1 Comp

Specialized Fatboy A1 premium aluminum Comp racing bike.  Upgraded cranks to Profile an

Specialized Fatboy premium A1 aluminum Comp racing BMX bike.
This bike is from the Fatboy Hemi lineage and just a great looking bike.
Unique, lightweight frame with the non contiguous seat tube and giant top tube.
 
1 1/8" threadless fork,
one piece crank with spider and chainwheel upgraded to 175 profile cranks with 44t profile TriFoil sprocket. 
Tektro V-brakes
1 1/4 seat post clamp w matching Stem
DK or JD made micro adjust super light alloy 26.6mm seat post
Specailized Fast Boy tires front and back 20x1.80 and 20x2.1 (different tread than the Baldy or Spanky)
Single wall rims, 1.75 laced to 36h loose ball Specialized hubs, 16t freewheel
Velo made Specialized Flame aftermarket saddle. -the original would have been drop nose -this is nicer.
Specialized handlebars by HL (Kalin) 28" wide with ATI flame grips

Sweet bike! That was definetly one of the best colors that they made for that bike and the profile cranks definetly complete it. One of my bmx magazines says the price was $649.95 so I hope helps you on the price but I am sure bike stores probly sold them for less.

I love this bike...   The fact that I didn't have to do anything is a little disappointing, but hey -can't complain.  The previous owner put the cranks and xs pedals on -i just added grips and changed out the tensioners he had on there.  I bought some odyssey flame pads and actually took it out on the track -rides nice.  I'll post my orange one, one of these days...

My friend had the base model back in 99, I thought it looked so high tech back then!  But then I was a dumb kid who cared more about my Playstation than important things like BMX back then.

would you be interested in selling it? i got mine stolen two days ago. i am 25 and would love to replace it, it had alot of centimental value to me, i have looked everywhere and can not find one.

my 96 I know cost 399 for the frame ...the original owner showed me the rec. after I picked it up from him ...its not an A1 comp though..you have a very sweet bike though:D

I sold all my spares already.  I have a spare Fatgirl if someone needs one.

I have this exact bike now in my shop looking to restore it. Any one have leads to decals? The flames seem head to find.
