Pictures I snapped of it at the Gary Turner BMX Show last month.

Man, I can just see me and two of my pals on that thing flying down a hill laughing our asses off. It's fantastic.

Re: 1974 Redline 24" square back

I just can't get enough of this piece of history.  I look at the pics every day & think how good it would look next to my squareback pit & '76 squareback. cool

Had a friend that got one new in 1976, I was in love at first sight.  When I started collecting BMX back in 2002, the 1976 squareback was the first bike I bought.

Also own 3 of the 100 Redline 2004 retro squarebacks (#3, #35 & #100), as well as one of the Knight 24" retro squarebacks (in nickel finish of course).

I've got a fever, & the only prescription is more squareback (not cowbell)!

None compares to your bike though.  It's my new Holy Grail that I never knew existed. cool

What happened to the original fork?

Still searching for my missing bikes from BITD. 1979 Blue Max serial: CI9 221346 and 1977 Webco serial: 42667. Both were last seen at Spoke and Sport Bicycles in Spokane, WA around 1984. $600 reward if found!!

Re: 1974 Redline 24" square back

I was told of this bike while at the races tonight. I 50/50 believed him. I came home, searched this site & BOOM! there it is.
I was also told it has sold for some insane, record setting amount of money. Is this true?

This bike is as rare as it gets, but I wonder if any of those 24" Schwinns that were made earlier ever got modified enough to race BMX?
