Donnie, I am the one that started the VDC Monkey bars on Big Tube trend, I used or had a set of Monkey bars for every Big Tube that I had owned and sold them along with the F/F sets!! They seem like a the perfect pairing to me. I also think the early (1984/85) Boss cranks are the best cranks for use on a Big Tube.

I will agree that the boss cranks look good on there not a big fan of the vdc bars at all.. The frame sits too low and the bars are too high in my opinion..

Re: <<<<<THE OFFICIAL GJS BIG TUBE COUNT>>>>>

Frame and fork came in flat primer. It was sanded down and painted with 5 layers of gloss black and 2 layers of clearcoat. It came out shiny.

MS paint was used tediously to recreate the decals and hand cutting the decals on vinyl to recreate the original GJS ad look. If you notice the fork decal in the ad is different then the ones on the later GJS bigtubes as it was actually a frame decal tilted 90 deg.

Gold Ambrosio rims were laced up to a set of Bullseye hubs and my original Kevlar Mitsuboshi comp IV tires I raced with wrap the rims. Threw on a Bullseye crank 181mm, Tuff neck 46T big ring (a JU favorite setup BITD/big arms and tall gears minus the OPC?). Pro Uni seat and 9"CW bars. I have a set of VDC bars but the rise on the CW pro bars is just a bit taller and comfortable so I left it. It rides like a dream.  Thanks for looking.

It has a short chainstay and a short top tube making the bike feel very responsive not that I ride it lol.

Great job love those Gold Ambrosio rims too smile
