1980 DG Racer 2

Just got it today...used to be a racer in Florida the way I understand it. Getting ready for a full resto on this one...

Re: 1980 DG Racer 2

just a thought, if you want to keep it original, touch up the scratches with a blue sharpie. Carefully dab it in. Then put a coat of car wax over it. It still looks great and you have the original paint still on it. Nice looking bike none the less. Good score!!!!!

Re: 1980 DG Racer 2

This bike is perfect. Disassemble it, scrub, clean, polish, reassemble. Don't change anything and DON'T use a marker on it. Chips add character. The survivor bikes have true history. Once you modify that, it is gone FOREVER! Nice find.

I live for SE, Race Inc, Nomura, and Navajo!!

Hey guys, go ahead and keep selling everything SE, GJS, and Nomura to Thailand. Once it's gone it's NEVER coming back to the US. There really IS more to BMX collecting than money!!

If I hear the words "RARE", "GRAIL", or "SCORE" one more time, I'm gonna f'n puke. ALSO, NOS is NOT a condition description. Being NOS has NOTHING to do with the actual condition of the part.

BMX Museum, where every single "score" thread is followed by a FOR SALE thread 15 minutes later.

Re: 1980 DG Racer 2

Awright fellas...I won't hurt her I promise. I do want to change just a couple of pieces. Not original to the bike anyway. I want to put a set of gold Bullseye hubs on it, and polish the spokes. Also want to change out the seat post with a gold one and  new grips and tires are in order as well. I'm looking for a NOS set of Comp II's for it. Though it photo's pretty, the paint is pretty hammered. I was thinking about doing a complete resto on it, but then that's why I let things sit while I think, instead of just tearing in to em'...I hear ya fellas and I agree with ya! I've wanted one of these since I was a kid, so no harm will come to her...appreciate the input from you guys!

Ahhhhh yes, Finding comp II's,  not a very easy task is it?  In fact there almost impossible to find.  I do see the Carlise knobs every now and then, There pretty much DG standard..
