1988 GT Performer

Stock GT Performer - my favorite yearSOLD 10/5/15

SOLD 10/5/15
Here is another 1988 GT Performer to add to my stable.  This is my favorite year.  I kept this one simple.  I still need to install pegs and standers and trade out the front caliper for a Nippon.  Every part of this bike was painted by me using spray enamels and products from my local auto store.  The paint is "Ford Blue".  It's all engine paint because I've found it holds up better.  I started with etching primer, followed by regular primer (because the etching is green and I feel it affects the color of the paint), then the color, then the clear.  I wet sanded between phases.
Here is the parts breakdown:Frame/Fork - 1988 GT PerformerBars - unstamped GT bars from mid 1980'sSeatpost - ebay special...no nameStem - GT Mallet (stamped 1985)Clamp - 1988 GT with repro decalPedals - WellgoCranks - OPC black opsChain - KMCSeat - new DominatorGrips - A'MEGyro - 1st Gen OddyseyGyro Cables - repops from Wooly Hat Shop (U.K.)Levers - DiaCompeRear Caliper - DiaCompeFront Caliper - DiaCompe Bulldog Wheels - Tuffs 2Chainwheel - stock 1988 GT cheese grater

Oh sorry man.  I forgot to reply to your post.  Yeah, it's in the engine enamels section at Advanced Auto.  They also have Chevy Orange and a few other cool colors.  The Ford blue is very close to GT blue.  In fact, I did a Dyno in that color as well a few years ago.
