Re: GROSS!! Look at Stussy's new $1200 BMX bike!!

I'll be honest, I love the way the bike looks. It just needs the rest of the pads, and to be 100% chromo. Then I'd be tempted to pay in the $400s for it.

When I bunnyhop I hear a creak and I don't know if it's my bike or my joints. Oh well.

As for the bike....hhhmmmm. I like the gusset.

i thought the gusset was the most disgusting part lol

That's cool.

But for me...I've always been a fan of the gussets from the late 70s to mid 80s. I think that the gussets were one of the things that set bikes apart from each other bitd. You could recognize a Mongoose, Diamond Back, Schwinn, whatever from far away just by spotting the gusset.

My favorite from bitd is the Diamond Back gusset. It was clean, but added a little bit of "badass" to it, along with the diamond cutouts in the rear & fork dropouts.

diamond backs are the shizzle i'm surprised more people don't rock 'em. the gusset and prism decals were always cooler to me than mongooses.

It has new Nitto bars. Who distributes new 20" Nitto bars? Certainly not on the Nitto site.. I need a bunch.

i don't doubt that. the 100% metal statement is so misleading and if it wasn't made in Japan which at least is better craftsmanship then made in Taiwan is just disgusting. $1200 for a bike made in Taiwan no other bike company could get away with that. the new Bob Haro bike which more than likely will made in Taiwan too won't even be Half as much as the Stussy bike.

Re: GROSS!! Look at Stussy's new $1200 BMX bike!!

Maybe they have switched to a maker in Japan now but I saw one close up yesterday at an event here in Japan and there was a sticker under the BB with Made in Taiwan on it.

Re Nitto, I spend a lot of time there, they make bars, stems and seat posts for me which you won't find on their site. They make bars for the bike shop that produces these bikes (as you know) but I don't know if they sell them separately.

Re: GROSS!! Look at Stussy's new $1200 BMX bike!!

I know this thread goes back a bit, but has anyone actually seen one of these from the late 70's / early 80's???

A friend of mine just sent me these photos and it took me a great deal of time to find what it was...
