1991 Dirt Brothers Industries Original
1991 Dirt Brothers Industries Original
The Skyway TA in it's true form!
This frame has been passed around friends for years, thanks Castleberry for hooking it up! I had to do the Dirt Bros set up, sand blasted, painted, fresh stickers and here it is!
Haro tapered forks (looking for Redline, forgot my Redlines are for the longer headtube)
Bully Nudie Bars
TNT Stem
Redline single pinch bolt cranks
S&M pedals (looking for Shimano DX's)
Dirt Bros sprocket
Peregrine 48's Super Pro HP's
Cheng Shin "Pete Tires"
Odyssey lay back seat post
GT seat
Odyssey Pozi stop seat clamp
Odyssey Pitbull brakes
Should I leave the sprocket or go Sprocket Pocket style? Front Mag or rim?

Where did you find the sprocket? That's a rare piece!
Great build; black mags would be cool on it

Re: 1991 Dirt Brothers Industries Original
Very Cool! I remember looking at these "modified" TA's in the magazines back then and i always thought it was the coolest idea they used someone else's frame and re-labeled them.
Mags for sure and def go for the sprocket pocket aswell if you can. I don't recall seeing any CNC'd sprockets back then when these DBI sets came so the "pocket" would be more correct and mags because nobody wanted them in the early 90's, except the Dirts bros.

Re: 1991 Dirt Brothers Industries Original
I asked Castle last summer for that frame and he said no way(If its not that one he has another Skyway frame).
Cool build.
So is this a community skunkbros. account or just 1 of you?
My buddy Sheridan has hung and lived w/ some of you for years.
I'm his drunken Injun bro.

What up Cory? Castle parted with the frame. These are just my bikes. Still need to post my sidehack and triple decker. Let's get together for more beers in the park.

Re: 1991 Dirt Brothers Industries Original
Went riding with my son a few weekends ago and ran into Vic Murphy! He was doing some big event with bands, bikes, skateboarding and Moto. Picked up half a dozen shirts!
I ended up going home and riding back with this picture that my bro took of Vic back in 91 so I could be a true grom and get it signed! Thanks Vic.
It was funny when he brought up this bike that he posted on his Facebook page.
On a side note, I listed this bike as a Dirt Bros and someone changed it to Skyway TA. Do you think it's legit to call it a Dirt Bros?

Re: 1991 Dirt Brothers Industries Original
Switched it up a little, slapped on some Shimano DX's, green Skyway mag and some Redline forklifter bars.

I think it should be called a Skyway TA because that's what it is! the only thing changed was the decals, if I bought a Redline and put skywayne decals on it, I think it would still be a redline since I had nothing to do with creating, designing or building it I just bought it and put stickers on it just like dirt bros did.
Always looking for nice / rare SKYWAY bikes, parts & gear.

Re: 1991 Dirt Brothers Industries Original
Yeah, but the Dirt Bros. T/A was the T/A in its true form... so shouldn't all T/As be relabeled as Dirt Bros?
