1987 GT Performer

(SOLD)  When you think of BITD you think of GT Performer.

Back in 87" I rode a lot of Haro freestyle. My main rider was a Haro Invert. Never had the money to afford the Team Master but back then to me there was nothing better then Haro co. Untill my buddy came home from the bike shop one day with the Blue 1987 GT performer. It was love at first sight! Ever since that day I was a GT fan for life but unfortunately could never get one. Now 26 years later my dreams have come true! I got this bike from another member and when I got it, it was in great shape but it was decaled as an 88 pro performer and was in need of love. I put a lot of blood, sweet, and tears into my baby, I hope you guys enjoy

Re: 1987 GT Performer

The photos of the Performer with the OGK Performer mags is shortly after I had purchased it. Only thing I had changed in those photos was I put the correct decal kit on it and added new tires and grips. The photos with the spokes on the bike are more recent. obviously I had made a lot of changes since first getting it. what do all you BMX freaks out there prefer? Hoops and spokes or the OGK's on the performers? LMK :D

Re: 1987 GT Performer

Nice '87 GTP. I like them both, but I prefer mags for color and flair.

BEER, BABES, & BMX, what else does a man need? Well, maybe some BULLETS for his BERETTA 9 MILLA MEETA.

I agree with Hannibal 100%, stock ALWAYS looks good. But I can't help it - it looks freakin awesome with the rims, pink tires and blue mallet stem! Just like Mickey D's baby- I"M LOVIN IT! Nice job!

Re: 1987 GT Performer

Thanks for the fave pick ope! Yo those GT freestyle tires you sold me look sick on my magenta 87" Performer. Unfortunately I am selling her very soon. Keep a look out. Im trying to get an 87" PFT. That's probably why I tried to make my Performer look like one lol. I just thought those pink panaracers looked better on the white hoops. Thanks for the feed back fellas!

Re: 1987 GT Performer

fantastic work man.  love it.  I love OGK mags though.  With a PFT, I think i would go with some Peregrine 48's.  But for a regular performer, I would have to say Mags, every time.  Heck I even put them on my 92 Vertigo i put together for the little lady. I told her if I ever come across a Performer that was missing the OGKs, I was going to steal them in the night and replace them with new sealed skyways.  lol

Nice bike man.

Re: 1987 GT Performer

yea I have Three pairs of white 87'' OGKs and one set is NOS never been mounted. I hear what your saying about them being on the Performer. They're basically a trade mark of the standard Performer or even the Pro Performer. When I got back into the hobby I swore every build was going to be to speck, but its like a sickness. Im always trying new looks. I have a Hutch that I don't really mess with tho. And Ryan, good looking out with the fave pick. much appreciated!
