CW pegs: CW owners, let me hear from you!

So I had a thought while riding with another member yesterday. We stopped to look at another Member's CW Boulevard he just picked up. After looking at his and a lot of the other CWs on here, I realized that most do not have the OG rear pegs. I picked up an 86 Cali Freestyler about a year ago, and it does have the pegs. My friend and I have a metal lathe, and a friend who is an amazing metal fabricator. Would there be interest from CW owners if we are able to start re-producing these pegs? I assume there might be. They will not be truly OG, but if we make them, they will look identical, this I promise.
So, let me know what you think, If the response is positive, we will start messing around with it. big_smile

Re: CW pegs: CW owners, let me hear from you!

As far as CW freestyle parts go that would have to be one of the most sought after parts there is and most frames sold are missing them.
If you could make them look as authentic as possible and could sell them for a fair price I don't see how you could go wrong, other than JDB watching very closely to make sure you don't use the CW name for marketing.
Perhaps you could call them "WC frame pegs" so they still show up when searching for CW parts on eBay and elsewhere.

Good luck and keep us posted on progress.cool

Re: CW pegs: CW owners, let me hear from you!

I don't think they would have any markings on them to get in trouble over, but I know what you are saying with JDB. Thanks for the tip, and I will let you all know if we have some luck!

Obviously, time and materials will dictate some aspects of pricing, but what is a general feeling as to what a set of pegs would be worth?

Re: CW pegs: CW owners, let me hear from you!

If you sell for about $20 it`ll be worth it. JDR would say something but then again there were other bikes that had that style like the cheap generic bikes. Don`t sell them as CW pegs, they`re pegs that fit bikes wink

Thanks, Lou, good point.
I will be PMing you sometime to talk about some f/f paint jobs. If we get these rolling, might see about having you coat them, too.

Re: CW pegs: CW owners, let me hear from you!

You can have a $25 shipping cost and give the pegs for free. Trademark or not, you`re not selling the product. Years ago on ebay before tickethub people were selling shows/concert/etc tickets for twice the value but selling a picture of something and thowing in the concert ticket for free. No scalping there if the ticket is free and making money from the picture wink

Re: CW pegs: CW owners, let me hear from you!

I have a NOS Blvd in the box. The original forks were used tho on another bike, so they're a bit weathered. I'd buy a set just in case I ever feel like building it. Got most of the parts for it, but lack motivation.

Re: CW pegs: CW owners, let me hear from you!

Count me in for the cost of a picture, napkin, rubberband etc and the pegs are free! I'm sure lots of other folks would like a set as well. Let me know when and if this happens!!

Okay, fellas. Looking into the feasibility of it, and will either revive this post, or a new one!

Re: CW pegs: CW owners, let me hear from you!

The front pegs are a plastic coated thing. You can find them fairly often. The rears are a different story.

Could you email me some pics of your Blvd to  showyourride@cwfreestyle.com so I can put it on my website. Thanks
